As for the weather, you have a vaild point - mind you, I do have a garage we could clear out and use in that case.
As for the wife, it wouldn't bother her a bit. You forget I have one of the best wives in toy fandom. :D
I was just using my place as an example - it doesn't have to be there. I was just thinking it would be a good way to keep costs down.

I could probably swing funds to make my way west by then. I could certainly get as far west as Montreal without spending a dime, since my brother's the best there is and would drive all the way here, pick me up, and take me that far! He's the reason I got into Joes in the first place, this is just further proof as to why he rocks. :D
But, er, anyway, yeah sometime in August would be good. I'd really like to meet y'all.

I am in as much as I can be, but keep in mind that I have a little one coming out in late Aug early Sept, so I might not be able to help as much as I'd like to.
Any date that's not September is good for me, but if you want to start anything by August of this year, you'd better get moving on it.

I like Raptor's thinking; that there be a more active theme for the con. Trading and chatting was a blast, especially for me since I was meeting everyone for the first time, but putting together a Team Canada custom project and then working out a little dio would be a blast. Unless there are too many type-A personalities and the whole thing ends in a big fight...

I think it's better if we leave the location to a place that doesn't belong to any of us....... After hearing about what happened at Zedcon in the U.S. this year, I'd hate for anything of Ed's (joe or not) to go missing.

It's a little uneven, granted... but not sunken. I am doing MAJOR work out there this year, so it should be a lot better by the fall.That said, I agree with Mike - it would be best not to have it at a residence. Although I still think a park/outside would alleviate a lot of costs. Everyone can bring a cooler with some food, etc.
More of a get together of collectors than a "con" per se.

I may have an option open to us for using an empty store - for $25.00.
It would need some tables and chairs, and folks could still bring their own food and drink.
I should know more next month for sure.

Pros:
- I could theoretically attend Zedcon 2, which is looking like it'll be in August.
- I'll be back in work six days a week in September instead of two, meaning I can spend a bit more money on this kind of thing.
- Weather will be cooling down, so if I have to spend 3-9 am walking the streets of Toronto again, it will be more bearable.
Cons:
- If I'm working six days a week, it means I'm taking time off work.
I can't think of any more cons... Pros kicks Cons ass. I vote yes to September.

On figures. I was thinking that we could all do customs, shoot Loop's dio, and do a draw for the lot. Everyone that puts one in the pot gets a shot at taking them all away.
LBC's allowed, and if you forget, Mike has a parts bin. For everyone that feels like they can't do it, you're a headswap away from doing a custom. I'll even bring my screwdriver. Catch is that you also have to name it.
That's cheap, and gives us all a reason to put something together. (And some pictures to post to the board...)

I've decided on (possibly) a few things.
1. It will be in Hamilton.*
2. It 'may' be on a Sunday. (See if you can make it Ed!)
3. I may 'allow' a 'dealers room' type of thing..... where you could buy items from folks that set up.
4. A Trading room - TRADES only. (no money to be exchanged).
5. Food for everyone (not just
and Pepperettes)6. G.I. Joe 'Rasslin will be back.*
7. There may be an admission price this time if all the above does take place.*
(Under $5.00 I assume).
8. There will be door prizes.
9. Possible 'custom project' and/or 'group dio'.
Then again...... we may just do what we did last time - play it by ear!
Any thoughts?
September does seem like a good choice for alot of folks. Besides, February had snow... and cold..... and I don't like those very much.

Well... if they want to set up and SELL ITEMS, they'll have to pay for a table to do so.
Anyone caught 'selling' in the trading room will be kicked out of the show - for good.
Some folks 'sold' at the last one - and it royally pissed me off - mainly due to the fact that they were told NOT to.
Grrr... anyway, this time around there will be some dealers set up.

Reason it got overlooked, is because I had a store AND the Meet to run at roughly the same time.
Thanks to Pete, I didn't have to worry about getting the Meet up and running since he took care of opening it for me.
That's why this year I'm pushing for a Sunday Meet.
An all day meet from somewhere around 11am to 6 or 7pm. (or earlier).
I know Ed said he can't attend on a Sunday, which would suck since I'd really like to have Ed there...... Ed?.... Not even later in the day???

Personally I would like it to be a bit warmer when we do it but lets try to keep it near the annual year time, so more like March is what I was hoping for.
I'm fine with Sundays, but I'm kinda Joed out right now this summer from the con and seeing new stuff turn up. I haven't posted as much on any of the boards I go to lately. Sort of just paying off my credit card after Florida and all. Another reason I like the Spring time frame, far away from the Christmas bills, and not hurting from Summer conventions either.
October, November more holidays start showing up and they cost money, plus saving up for Christmas, so again, back to the spring where expenses are a little less.

I have bought a new car. ($ 68.11 weekley for 50 more weeks!)
Buut I have allready put a new battery, alternator and a set of rear shocks and mounts in it.
Nothing I could do to prevent any of those things.
I have been praying to the Oldsmobile gods for a short while now, making offerings of Gas and oil. They seem pleased, as nothing has gone wrong in a while.
I gues as long as I keep the offerings up the car should be fine :D
