Once again we're given the opportunity to ask Hasbro the questions that are pressing on the minds of the fans!

Let's try again to get interesting questions this round, ones that can't be easily answered with "canned" corporate statements. Put some thought into it and let's get some good info!

Uh... can we ask things about Canadian distribution?
If so, I have one:
A lot of GIJoe exclusives can't be sold in the Province of Quebec on account of a lack of french on the packaging. Of note is the recently-leaked-from-China Wal-Mart battle stations that show Hasbro Canada markings on the package but no French. Toys'R'us exclusives also suffer from this lack of french, making itexpensive for French-Canadian Joe fans to get those figures and vehicles. Is there any way to get future (and past, I still want that Firefly!) ROC exclusives to be made for the Canadian market in bilingual/trilingual packaging like the regular releases are?

What were the motivations behind the changing of Dial-Tone from male to female in the new IDW, Resolute and Rise Of Cobra continuities? Is there any reason the established female GIJoe computer technician Firewall couldn't be used instead?

Oh I've been waiting for the next round of questions. I REALLY want this question answered:

Recently Fun Publications and the G.I. Joe Master Collector group announced the date for the American G.I. Joe convention will be April 29th - May 2nd. Traditionally the Canadian G.I. Joe convention is early May. When I asked on Master Collector board why they moved their date I was told the answer was due to Hasbro. Why did Hasbro want the American convention at the same time as the Canadian convention?

Sorry but multi-part question here:

At the recent American G.I. Joe con, we were given a preview of a new Cycle Armor, and what would best described to be Mecha.

Are these pieces an attempt to build the brand to appeal to the fans of Japanese Anime, and/or is Hasbro/Takara looking to build the GIJoe brand in the Asian market? Will the Cycle Armor only work with the figure it ships with or can others use it? Do these items show any possibility of a Joe/TF crossover line, more usage of the M.A.S.K. franchise, or a yet unknown crossover in the near future?

What were the motivations behind the changing of Dial-Tone from male to female in the new IDW, Resolute and Rise Of Cobra continuities? Is there any reason the established female GIJoe computer technician Firewall couldn't be used instead?

IDW wanted to create an original character, but Hasbro told them to use an established character's name instead and only make original characters if it's a specialty that no Joe already covers. Hasbro was okay with changes to some characters, however. IDW was told Hasbro had no plans for Dialtone, and so IDW gave that name to their new female comm officer. It fit so well she showed up in Resolute, the Rise of Cobra video game, and soon as an action figure.

Is there any way to let collectors know what upcoming waves have been ordered with trilingual packaging sooner so we don't have to run across the border, ask American friends for favours, or order these toys from online stores as soon as a wave of figures is released in the US?

We asked for this at snowtroopers.ca regarding star wars toys and they thought it was a good idea (see below for a truncated version of the Q&A). So asking them to do similar for Joe fans would be a great thing, and what better conduit than joecanuck.com!

Q) Is it possible to set up some kind of information feed that would
inform Canadian collectors of exactly what is coming to Canadian
retail? As things get finalized you could let us know. For example, if
a retailer steps up for the Scramble at yavin battle pack assortment,
you could let us know when this happens. Or once retailers place an
order for a certain wave, you could automatically confirm this for us.
This would save us from asking every Q&A "Is x vehicle or wave coming
to Canada"? It would also benefit retailers because we would then not
resort to ordering things from the US for fear of them never arriving
at retail here. It would basically act as product announcements like
Hasbro USA does when revealing new products, but be Canada specific.

A) That is a good idea for a list to advise Canadian collectors.  We will
work that up and use it for periodic updates as different toys ship.
