Title: FSS 2.0 figures announced
Post by: Pete The Greek on April 06, 2013, 05:37:49 PM
The club announced the following 12 figures.

- Big Bear
- Bombardier
- Cesspool
- Cobra Desert Scorpion
- Dragonsky
- Keel Haul
- Night Force Falcon
- Skull Buster
- Tiger Force Airtight
- Tiger Force Shipwreck
- Tollbooth
- Widescope

They only showed Dragonsky and Skull Buster.

Here is the kicker: Pre-orders to start near the end of April.  They want to start shipping them in August.

So almost an overlap.

Savage indicated a month gap between two FSS.  But then again, it is the club.  Shit does happen with them.

Hopfully they will have better quality on this run.  I will sign up again and roll the dice again!

Looks like they learned their lesson and kept it to ARH and related international releases that haven't been done in the 25th/ME/POC/30th (whatever) design.  This lineup has pretty much a 12 for 12 "want" list.

However I still only really want Dragonsky, Keel Haul and Tollbooth.  The rest would be nice, but won't be something I actively look for unlike my first 3 choices.

a Z Force version of Bombardier? not a Special Weapons Force version? odd...

Except for the TF stuff, I like this offering.  Dont know if there will be a home run like Big Boa in this lot, but Id like most of those figures as they are obscure and wouldn't see normal retail.

Sorry for the confusion.  Not sure which version it will be.  I just had it for all those that were going "Bombardier, who?".

I can see this version being done:

Fortunately, I plan on ordering a set and want none of those three figures. I'll hook you up.

In all honesty, I will probably only keep the Falcon, Cesspool and Bombardier (if it's the blue one).

GTA folks who want to split the set should get in touch with me.

I like this line up.  it's a good mix.  I wasn't too keen on the first wave of figures but have been impressed when I've seen them in person.  Especially Big Boa.  I even liked Sure Fire quite a bit.

The cost of the 12 figure subscription service is $306 (+ shipping for 6 shipments).  You can pay all at once or in three installments of $102 (billed to your credit card). When you subscribe and choose pay by Installment, you will be billed for the first two month's shipments.  Then sometime during the second month of shipping (October/November), you will be billed for the 3rd and 4th months' shipments and sometime during the 4th month of shipping (December/January) you will be billed for the final 2 months' shipments.

Please note that for the installment payment option there is a $4 service charge per billing while the pay in full option has one $4 service charge.  Please also note that for installment buyers, there is an additional charge each time a billing is attempted if your card is not approved.  If your card has been declined and we have to rebill, we will only be able to retry your billing three (3) times before your subscription is cancelled.

Each retry has an additional fee added to your total charge (please see the Terms and Conditions.) For example when the second and third installments are billed, if your card fails, the first time we retry will carry a $4 service fee, the second time will carry an $8 service fee and the third time will carry a $12 service fee.  If it fails at that point, we will cancel the subscription.

We have found that the majority of the problems is because the billing address entered doesn't match your credit card statement.  Please check your statement and enter your billing address exactly the same as your statement, even if you don't agree that this is your correct address.

This Figure Subscription Service is a "build to order process" so you can order as many as you like, until the order period closes. At that time, we will not process anymore subscriptions and we may/may not have additional figures in the club store at a higher per figure price.

The order period is from May 1 through May 22nd.  You can check out the pictures and order link at GIJoeClub.com.  If you have any questions, please let us know and we will answer them in the FAQs at GIJoeClub.com.

Enjoy!

Brian

I'm going to order my figures this week. I'm not keeping them all, so if anyone in the Toronto area wants to acquire a Big Bear, Skull Buster, Tiger Force Shipwreck or Wide Scope, I'm selling them at cost (1/12 of total cost + shipping)

No need to rush the order Jon. You've got a few weeks.

And if you don't want Big Bear I wouldn't find having a spare to open so I can put it with last years con set.

I'm trying to work with them on the shipping. I've emailed them and if I didn't feel like crap today I'd be on the phone.

My advise is keep your receipt and your shipping boxes when they come in. For 2 sets the true shipping rate is $12.02. Trust me on that. Then contact them when it's over and demand a refund of the difference. Wave one shipping with insurance cost about $90, not $130.

Excellent news for Canadians! I've been in touch with the club on and off for a few weeks now questioning the high rates to ship to Canada and providing hard numbers to back my questions.

I called to ask about where my last months issue was and had to tell Angie my name. She immediately recognized my name from my emails and she opened the dialog for the shipping concerns I've had for FFS 2. I wanted to buy two sets but $170 seemed to high. The real number is $111.30. They are changing the rates on the web site AND they are going to contact Canadian members who have already purchased and offer refunds on the difference.

There are other numbers in the cost like $4.00 handling per order but I'm fine with that number.

The good news is the price is dropping and refunds are coming.

I always say it doesn't hurt to ask. This is one of those situations where it all worked out.  ;D

They are re-sending them. You should call or email them. They can be reasonable. Angie is very nice to talk with.

I had the problem with the newsletter too, last issue received was December. They re-sent the last few months' to me but could offer no explanation as to why they stopped arriving in the first place.  Luckily I haven't had any issues with the FSS so far.

From the sounds of it they are having a big problem with their mass mailer company.  this happened a few years ago as well and they had to switch companies.

My newsletters stopped coming the same time as well, but I did contact them regarding January and February's newsletters and they mailed them to me within a week.  I'm waiting on March and April's to see if they or May's newsletter shows up for that matter.

I've dealt with Angie in the past and actually visit with her at the Cons when I attend them.  She is very kind and helpful with any issue.
At present I have been dealing with Karen via email and she is just as helpful and friendly.

As long as I get my subscription figure Iceberg and my FSS figures I am ok.

I've got word from a few guys you are all getting refunds. I'm glad it all worked out.

I've said good things and bad things about the Master Collector group. Yes, they still make some mistakes but there are two positive things I can say about the club:

1) They do make an excellent product. For the most part their kit bashing with existing parts, paint an new heads is great and they bring us characters Hasbro wouldn't.

2) One on One they listen. I've had a few instances over the years with issues and when I think about it every time they've done everything they can to resolve it. Examples of this off the top of my head include adjusting individual shipping charges, mailing me replacement products at their expense (twice now), finding 4 extra Cobra Undertow figures when they went on sale and now the country wide price drop on shipping. I had to email 3 different people and try contact them via facebook and phone them directly but Angie did listen and invested 4 -5 hours looking into the shipping rates. It took some effort but they did admit there was a fault and took the time to resolve it for all of Canada.

Yes, there will always be problems. What I'm taking from this experience is they do listen and will work hard to resolve problems when they can.

If you are on the fence about getting a set think about this. For 13 figures it works out to be just under $30 per figure for a premium figure, shipped to your front door. The quality is excellent and wave 2 looks awesome. Any Joe fan that has a few dollars to spare so give it a try at least once. You can always sell them on Ebay if you change your mind later.

Now that the FSS1 mystery figure has been revealed, I can breathe a sigh of relief that it wasn't NF Crazylegs and instead hope for him in Wave 2 as the secret fig.

I got in contact with Angie, so hopefully they will send Jan-present in newsletters, she said March-present so I had to correct her, either way, he newletters aren't a big deal.  As for the old installment plan, I was paying, $140.30 x 3 (no insurance) where each set of 2 was $17 in shipping and with the new shipping pricing, it is $131.90 x 3 (no insurance) where each set of 2 was $12.45.  So the savings of $30 is pretty significant, thanks again Morg for checking in on this.  And for those who might be "waiting" for the club to refund you, you better contact them ASAP because I don't think they will refund you unless you contact them as they have to cancel your old order and you have to put in a new one.

I took a look at my credit card statement. Due to fluctuating exchange rates, I actually lost even more money when I re-ordered. The cost of the second order exceeded the credit which was well under the initial payment.

Dang. That's insane. That's one thing that can't be controlled I suppose. I know the sets Pete and I got hit $800 Canadian after the conversion. Before I thought it was $29.xx but now it's $30.77 per figure. Sorry to hear the currency exchange rate worked against you.

I saw an email from the MC Club saying the order process was being extend for 2 more hours tonight.
