Who else thinks that Recondo (wave 2) was supposed to be Gnawgahyde?? He has the weapons (same type of rifle, same hat, some bear traps), he looks like a poacher! heck, his head doesn't even look like Recondo..
What do you think?

I was wondering the samething. I think the bear traps is what does not belong with the Recondo figure.

Huh. I never thought of that. Makes more sense then calling him Recondo. I have that figure and I hate it. Too much weird gear and it all keeps falling off, including the hat.
Maybe if he was repainted as Gnawgahyde and didn't have the back pack with those silly solar powered looking fins on it then I might like it a bit more.

Yeah he is a great example of how Hasbro's new love for accessories can go wrong. I lone the backpack and bear trap, but the hat, mask and others either don't fit, or are out of whack with the figure.
He is definitely an easy remake into Gnawgahyde. One that I would buy without question.

I also think the guys at Hasbro must be Call of Duty fans. Funny how the tomahawks were one of the more anticipated new weapons from CoD Black Ops when Treyarch first released the teaser trailers months and months ago and Recondohyde here has two of them and they look exactly the same.

Ditto here. Now that its mentioned, I can totally see him as Gnawgahyde.

To me he's not really either. Sort of a resemblance in the face to gnawgahyde (though that original is frea-ky!), and i guess the buffness of him, but that's about it. But he doesn't really resemble recondo either. He reminds me more of jesse ventura from predator than either of those two guys. Either way, other than the looking down problem and the hat falling off he's an awsome figure with cool gear. All the ridiculous gear is one of the major awsomenesses in this line. You can mix and match it around and it has all kinds of possibilities. Can't go wrong with excess gear imo.

I think its a North American Indian tribal mask

There's some similarities there......and "Recondo" isn't exactly dressed for the hot tropics......but more for the temperate BC rainforests.

Wow, thanks for that post ARROW! I'm 100% sure that this figure wasn't supposed to be Recondo in the first place.. bear traps, bear mask, Mmmmm.. bizarre!
It would be an excellent question for those Hasbro's Q&A..
