POC is "sexy" looking product--it really is. The "Metal Gear Solid" vibe with the figures is really attractive, and the detailing on the figures is very intricate.

But Star Wars on its WORST day can beat out POC ............simply because Star Wars has a fan base that eclipses GIJOE by an order of magnitude greater numbers.

Honestly, Hasbro has put a considerable amount of effort into making GIJOE an attractively packaged product. Not just POC, but just about every line going back  quite some time.
Sigma Six was incredible looking product, 40th Anniversary stuff was note-perfect, Classic Collection had fantastic painted box covers..........its not really helped.
GIJOE sales have remained ( its been said) consistently "soft"--that is the stuff sells, but not terribly fast or in large volumes. It tends to be an annual seller--4th quarter/Christmas time, not a perennial seller ( year-round)
In the last TEN years........we've seen about EIGHT or nine different incarnations of GIJOE, in essentially 5-6 different scales. That's pretty much shooting in the dark as far as marketing the brand goes.

Personally, I LOVE the styling of POC, and I hope and pray ( and expect, to a degree) that it will continue as the "styling" for Renegades because its been an exciting and compelling spin on GIJOE.
ROC was definitely ho-hum compared to this stuff.

To sell toys in big numbers you need 2 things... a TV Show and Adversting!  Hasbro does neither for GI Joe

THIS! Thank you bandonov..

I too originally collected the line as a kid because of the comic and cartoon I'd rush home from school to watch every day.

Which Toronto/GTA Walmart has the best selection for wave 2 right now?

I am going to Mississauga on Saturday and I want to be able to grab some wave 2 while I am there.  I have only seen 2 pieces from wave 2 in Barrie so far.

It's totally hit and miss. I was lucky to see one fresh case of wave 2 and that's all i've seen so far. So if you hit a store at the right time, you'll get lucky. I tend to have better luck first thing in the morning. Good luck. :)

Yeah, I hit WM in the Morning and during my lunch hour.  That is why I'm so lucky... Plus when you hit 3 to 4 stores a day you are bound to find them sooner...  :cobra:

Wave 2 has been a bust for me. Still have yet to see a single figure on the shelf. I'm hoping things pick up soon.

I wasn't able to make it to the city today because my wife is sick so need to look after her today.

But last night I was at the Walmart in Barrie and picked up the new VAMP w/ Double Clutch.

The VAMP is a pretty sweet vehicle and there was only one on the shelf.  I really like that they have made it with multiple ports so weapons can be moved anywhere on the VAMP.  A pretty nice update on Double Clutch too.
