Greetings one and all!
« on: May 03, 2011, 08:18:54 PM »

Hey guys,
Long time Joe collector from the USA here, first time attendee to the Canadian Joecon this coming July.
Been wanting to go to one for a while, since I always have a great time when I visit Canada (not to mention the HATE tank was SWEET!), but sadly I can only afford one convention a year. But this year is certainly your turn, Canada! :D
I look forward to meeting some Canadian Joe fans I have known online in the past (though I haven't been in touch for years).
Anyway, I figured I'd come in here an introduce myself. My online handle has been Rockhammer for years, and I currently live in Pennsylvania, in the Philadelphia area. Unlike most collectors, I have never stopped buying and collecting G.I.Joe since I bought my first figure (Torpedo, in case you're wondering). I kept buying them even through High School and the neon years. I guess I must be addicted, or something ;)

I look forward to meeting those of you who will be attending the convention this year.

General Hawk: Technically, G.I. Joe does not exist, but if it did, it\'d be comprised of the top men and women from the top military units in the world, the alpha dog\'s. When all else fails, we don\'t.

You love NEON despite what other collectors might say about it.  Now that is something that I must respect! I also never let the Neon colors get in the way of the amazing sculpts some of the 90's lines had to offer, +1  :timbits: to bid you welcome and hoping that you'll make this your home as much as us!

Thank you all very much for the warm welcome!
I just noticed I wrote "July" when I meant "June..." my first Canadian Joe Con will be this coming June :)
It might help to keep the dates straight! LOL.

Good to see another American here to keep me company!  While I myself have not been fortunate enough to make it to a CJC, the folks on this board are extremely good people.  Welcome!

Welcome!  Nice to see another member who's managed to stick it out - through good and bad.  Back in high school, I bought a lot of figures "for my little brother"......

Hey there! Welcome to the board. If your coming up from the US then you might want to bring up any Amercian exclusives as trade fodder. Things like the Walmart battle station sets or the cancelled Target sets like the RAM cycle / Trouble bubble sets. You know, the stuff Canada never got.

Hope to see you at the con.
