Mike makes a good point about everyone voicing an opinion, and until I read his post I wasn't going to make a comment as I would try and go no matter what city it is in.

But now that I am posting, Niagara falls does offer more "to do" than Hamilton, (one of the wax museums has a full size Mr. T  :mrt:)and I would probably make a weekend of it with my family.  Were as Hamilton I would just drive the day of and then drive home.

I don't know what kind of traffic this this board gets but seeing as what started off as a Joe Meet and is now getting as large as a Joe Convention, after 1 week 29 votes is kind of slim pickings.

I avoid message boards, I don't like posting but will read from time to time, but it's easy to do. Sign in, place your vote, and make a little posting... even if it's just "Thanks" or "You guys are great" to the people that make this stuff happen. For the folks that make this happen for the rest of us, I can click a button, cast a vote, and say THANKS for my GI Joe childhood memories alive and making these conventions happen where us simple folks can come together and share something in common we all enjoy.

Please take the time.

Well, I have cast  my  vote.. and I did go  for the Falls,  it  doesn't  really  matter   where it  is, because I am  willing to drive there.

I've  drove  in the past to the  MC conventions  In Florida, Minneapolis, New Orleans  and  to Atlanta.   Any drive to a convention  that is   in about a 4 hour  drive of me is a pleasure cruise compared to the above long hauls.

I voted Toronto because it is a big tourist city with TONS to do for those traveling and looking for something to do the night before.

But the same can be said for Niagara Falls....?

Actually, I can't think of anything to do in Toronto the night before - except drink, eat, and hit the clubs. (Not that I'm much of a club guy anymore).

I voted another city - Ottawa.  Only because it's practically next-door to me  :P  and Saturday is always a good day.

Toronto's cool, though.  If parking fees are a problem, park the car in a 'burb and take the GO into the city.  Parking is free at most train stations and the GO is not too expensive for a two-way ticket.  I do it for Fan Expo and haven't had a problem.

Have you guys settled on the dates, or do you have a rough idea of when it'll be? I'm hoping to come out but the con always seems to land during my exams...so if i knew a little earlier i could try and get around my exams :)

Trying for one of these dates:
April 4
May 2

Should have a solid one announced in October.

It's leaning that way. Mainly depends on location and availability. Don't worry, once I know - you'll all know. BUT, it is a 99.9% sure thing that it's in Niagara Falls this time.

Hopefully I'll be able to make it out next year along with the family -- the wife hasn't been to the 'Falls since '95 and the kid has never been.  If we can work the time off, we might fly out there for the festivities.
