Title: Samko / Miko 2008
Post by: morgardee on September 18, 2008, 09:27:57 AM
Anyone know when they are opening this year? I have my annual Lexmark training coming up in October (Richmond hills) or November in London and I since I can choose which one to attend I want hit one of those stores while I'm in the area.

Is there a web site with location and dates?

Mor, I know that you're the resident old guy and everything, but surely you've heard of Google?

Dang, earliest I can get to the Toronto area is on the 30th, when I'm passing through.  The Ottawa one, I'll have to visit once or twice in it's span.  That looks awesome!

Samco = lame.

Nothing new this year that wasn't there last year, and at pretty much the same prices. If you are looking for titanium star wars, there was a little bit there, TF mini trains for 2.50 each and some spiderman origins figures, also wrestlers.

The only joe content was the Ninja Battles at 12.50 and the tunnel rat dune buggy for 7.50 - nothing else joe or joe compatible.

The books cost more this year, and everything else was a higher price as well. it looks like the decent discounts are now officially gone with the old buildings, and the pricing can be compared to TRU's "on sale" prices.

Add to that the roads are so bad that my muffler busted in 2 on a bump, and that the gardner was closed, and getting back to Guelph took me 3 hours, it was a pretty bad day. I got the leapfrog system that I wanted to get for my daughter but that was it. I walked out of Samco spending less than $50 and none of it was for me.

If nothing else, it might be a good place to find a few Christmas gifts.  Can never think too far ahead

Dude, I started Christmas shopping in August. I've been doing it that way for years now. I have 10 nieces and nephews, 3 kids at my sons day-care and then my son and my wife so the only way for me to have a "merry" Christmas is if I spread out my spending way in advance.

I expected as much.  It was lame last year in terms of Joes and I suspected the same as well this year.  I don`t think I will be making any special trips to the one in Richmond Hill.

Next weekend is the Ottawa stop.  I'll be heading up to check it out...  hopefully I can get a few people off my Christmas list.
