I can't make out what it says on her forehead: --FE? It looks like it says LIFE. I'm guessing it's some type of mark to identify non-sale pre-production items, but what an odd place to put it!

Never would've guessed that's an "H". No idea what it stands for, if indeed it is an "H".

I could be wrong but I've bought figures directly from China before and they had some writing on the heads, usually a couple of letters. Not sure if they are someone's initials or from an early product run. Either way, they looked a lot like those letters shown here. Also, the right side of her head, besides the stars looks like whatever that is is carved or melted into the head plastic. Look how it breaks her right eyebrow on th classic version.
Chances are the finished product will have the little stars on the side on the face and that's all.

Yeah, very cool. Hope this doesn't sky rocket. Somebody at joe con said something about knowing the demand would be much higher for this and the skystriker, but the higher ups would not increase the numbers accordingly. So it sounds like a big rip off coming.

Hi Turner. Didn't they learn anything after last year's complaints about not making enough Sgt. Slaughter figures? Hasbro has to know that Zarana will be a popular figure. Fans have been asking for her for years. It would make way more sense to release an exclusive Zarana (black outfit) at the comicon and then release the traditional Zarana at retail. It would be a sure thing. Instead, we get tons of Dukes, Storm Shadows and frozen Destros haunting the pegs at stores where I live. News flash: fans bought the figures they wanted and no one is going to buy the rest. And that will just make retailers wary of restocking shelves with new figures. It makes me wonder, is Hasbro even trying to sell GI Joe???

The Zarana Frenzy has started! With tons of ebay auctions now available, will you pay the premium price to have her now? The pink version is going from $46 to $65 each and the variant version is selling for $100 to $120 each.
Our other option is HTS.COM on Monday following the SDCC to pick one up at the regular price. But will they have any stock left or will they only have a limited stock that will be sold out before most people can logon to the site?
What are your plans? I missed out on the 2 Zaranas versions for $125 already.

I had the two versions lined up for $95 including shipping but the auction ended in the end of may and I started hearing things about the seller so just before the 45 day claim period was over I filed to be safe and was refunded my money but either way there goes my figures.

I won't budge on these until the summer is over. I expect the frenzy to die down once people get back to the grind and the "gotta have it" crowd is finished.
I can't believe the variant is going for so much!!!! I expect that this will change as well. Once the dust settles the "original" design will be more valued.

I'm betting Hasbro will eventually release figure or something similiar again in a later wave. (Hopefully)

The answer was 26 July, just like in our title.
So just 4 more days to go and all of you who did not make it to SDCC can have a second go at them.

Just got my Zaranas in the mail today. I have to say I'm very impressed by these figures even though I paid evilbay prices for them I'm quite happy!

I saw the Cold Slither variant on Sunday (80's part of TFCon), but the guy would only sell them as a set for $125. Way outta my price range. My friend ordered the pink version from ebay, we bought 2 for $82 after shipping. Still want the Cold Slither version though.
Sidenote: Did you see the guy selling Cold Slither T Shirts at TFCon/80's Expo? I picked one up for $15.

Not paying this much for an action figure. As much as I love GI Joe figures, I would prefer to eat than have a cool figure on my desk.
More power to people who can afford to though.
I wish this was going to be a retail release.

Buy one, take the "snow" paint off (it rubs off pretty easy) and put the head on a different destro.Makes a really nice chrome head.

HTS sold for $14.99 USD.
I paid $41 ebay after shipping, for a Pink Zarana.
Hobby Star sent out an email earlier this week, saying the Hasbro Exclusives will be available at Fan Expo.

Well, I guess its just as well that I bought one on the bay then, because I'm no more likely to be able to make that Toronto convention either.

I could have waited on Zarana!!!!

It was disappointing that the SDCC Zarana wasn't offered by Hasbro at Fan Expo. The only G.I. Joe exclusive they had was the Hiss Scout and Cycle Armour. They were exclusive because they had a little gold sticker on them saying so. I thought Hasbro could at least of brought something G.I. Joe to Fan Expo that wasn't offered at Winner's on clearance.
Hasbro's focus this year at Fan Expo was on Kre-O. It seemed like their other products took a back seat to their Kre-O offerings. Not too much excitement for Joe fans after this Fan Expo.

I was wondering about Fan Expo this year but haven't heard much about it, so I thought it was a bust.

Hasbro mentioned at CanJoeCon that they weren't going to get any of the sdcc exclusives this year. They never said why.
