Anyone ever figure out some recipes for mixing some of the standard Joe colours for touching up figures?

Excellent question... but I don't think it exists  :'(

Since you are thinking about painting, here is the reference: http://wiki.joecustoms.com/wiki/Customizing_Guide#Painting (http://wiki.joecustoms.com/wiki/Customizing_Guide#Painting)

You will find answer on almost all your questions.

I've managed to figure out Scarlett's hair (at least my particular Scarlett). Interesting mix. 3 drops orange, 2 drops red, 3 drops yellow and a bit of green (a SMALL bit) to darken.

I used a Testors Acrylic set that has some skateboards on the cover and includes:

Gloss Red
Gloss Orange
Gloss Yellow
Gloss Green
Gloss Blue
Gloss Black
Gloss White
Metallic Silver
Metallic Gold

I've tried the black on the feet and belt of an old Cobra Commander and it looks pretty good.

I'll try the silver on his entire mask next, maybe I'll look better than using those Silver Sharpie paint pens (and less tacky as in never dries). I'll try thinning it if it doesn't go on evenly.

I'll also try to mix the brown they used on a lot of the 1982 boots. I'll post the mix here if I get it right.
