General Joe Talk / Re: Oops. Proof reading/editing mistake (Hasbro)
« on: July 04, 2009, 02:22:55 PM »
On another board, someone suggested I should buy it as soon as possible because it is the kind of mistake that could get pulled from the shelves if some parent gets uppity about it.

General Joe Talk / Oops. Proof reading/editing mistake (Hasbro)
« on: July 04, 2009, 10:31:17 AM »
Sorry I don't have a pic, but I didn't have my phone with me, and I wasn't going to pay $24.99 for a Snake Trax w/Scrap Iron.

So if anyone in Canada can grab a pic and post it to show what I mean, please do.

Anyway, I was at TRU and they had the display for ROC out.  Everything was fine until I saw the Snake Trax w/Scrap Iron.

At first I thought it might have been me just misreading it, then maybe it might have been one box, but no.

EVERY Snake Trax box (multilingual) has the name and then "with/avec/con ACRAP IRON!!!"

I don't know why,  but I couldn't help but laugh at the mistake.  Mostly likely due to my juvenile sense of humour.

As I said, it was on the multilingual boxes, so I don't know if the same mistake will appear on the English only boxes.

General Joe Talk / GI JOE: ROC comic adaptation #1
« on: July 03, 2009, 03:10:45 PM »
Well I read the first issue of the comic adaptation.

I have to say, if this is faithful to the movie, then the opening 20-30 minutes of the movie should be pretty good action and story.  I of course won't spoil it for anyone, but we get some good character development combined with some great action.

Also, SE looks to be pretty bad ass right away.

Ontario / ROC Figures at Walmart
« on: June 26, 2009, 07:18:11 PM »
SOmeone I trust has posted a sighting on another board of ROC figs and vehicles at the Walmart at Jane/Hwy 7 in Toronto (Vaughn).  Little to far for me to check out, but I trust the sighting.

Why wasn't this released sooner!!??!!

This makes even the accelerator suits seem passable.

Yearly CanJoeCon Discussion / Re: 2009 Con Sets

Quote from: "morgardee"
Seems like at least 10% of the sets have hit ebay.

Why is everyone selling them?

Obviously because the set is sub-standard.  KIDDING!!!!

I would hazard a guess that the most sets were sold for financial reasons that couldn't be avoided.

Some later sets I think were sold because sellers started to see the pricing of sets sold and wanted to get in on the action.

If you can find out, see if anyone will let you know if any sales are planned for the release date.

Interesting.

However, I will say this again.  Since TF1 did so well in theatres and on toy shelves, I no longer worry about finding product right away.  It will be out, and in full force.  So much so, that I wouldn't be surprised at a sale on the Joe stuff within the first 2 weeks.

Considering Walmart and TRU both had sales on TF2 products from day one!!! I won't be surprised if something similar doesn't happen with Joe.
