And the coolest is that Herb Trimpe actually never got to draw this character in the GI joe comic book. So i asked him "could you please draw him as you would've if you had to draw him at the time". He was pleased to. Of course I brought my mint on card specimen so that he could use it as a specimen, I came prepared for my special request. And I didn't even have to tell him to make it funny, the guy has a natural sense of humour and I was happy that he made the character miss a mine, which shouldn't have happened according to the filecard that Larry Hama wrote, and I quote: "Lightfoot has elevated beeing careful to an artform...Lightfoot may take twice as long to clear an area, but at least you won't get any nasty surprises". Not true anymore for me!  ;D

Very nice.

How come you didn't ask Larry Hama to draw lightfoot for you instead?

I dropped by Zellers last night. I found Beach Head, Duke and Snow Job. I picked up all three. Everything else was gone, so I figure someone else *cough* 5h4rK *cough* must have beat me to them

OB

Even at that price, I'm not sure they'll manage to get rid of them.

The TRU stores should just call it a day and make a nice diorama with their leftover Neo Vipers....much like the very late Pascal store did in the past with the Star Wars Kenner collection.

Just passed by one TRU and it looks like they just restocked some more ROC figures....I think it's going to be awhile before POC shows up there.

Also, passed by a Zellers and saw the remnants of a case of POC figures...2x duke, 2x se, 2x ss. So, they are hitting zellers, but looks to be one case at a time.

Employees aren't trained to know the products that they sell so this will always happen.  Unless they examine the package to see if it was open before is there only hope of stoping this.  If you argue enough they will do the return anyway so the problem will always be there.

The image of the actual toys included are on the package, both the front and back...it's hard to miss. I think it's more the case of someone not caring. I mean the loss is not directly coming out of the employee's pocket. So, like you said if someone is arguing with you...you'll just want to get rid of this person.

I've too have been seeing this more often..and even more blatant...items stolen. I've seen cut bubbles with stolen accessories or the complete figure missing....so lame. The worst part is everyone thinks this is the work of kids....but sadly, I'm sure it's adult "collectors".

I had for sale at the con the vehicle packs with figure for $5.00 each most guys where not even interested. The 4 pack I sold for the same price all from target in American packaging.

Yeah, I'm feeling bad I didn't buy some. Got any felt?

I think they are all MOC and have not been "felt"  :P

You can always pick some up and send them to me and I can touch them and mail them back to you!!  ;D ;D ;D

Seriously, I saw them but didn't realize the price...too bad.

General Joe Talk / Re: Storm Rider variant

Is there a Storm Rider variant?  More to the point variant bandanna.  My figure's bandanna  has two red flames going down the front.  But in pictures I've seen and on the box art the bandanna's pattern is that of a red cobra symbol.

I don't think so. All the ones I've seen have the flames. Also, if there were any variation, I'm sure we've would have heard about it already.

The box art does look nicer though with the cobra symbol.

Call me the luckiest guy on Earth today. Back in Montreal, I was chatting not too long ago with fellow Madman only to find out that he got #22. He actually didn't want to tell me at first, because he wanted to surprise me and see my face when he'd show me the box but he just couldn't resist telling me and offered to trade it for my former #67. Today I'm home with my now #22 2010 box displayed next to my #22 2009 box. Thanks Madman, you saved the #22 tradition from dying again this year :cobra:

It's a huge improvement on the ROC version, you have to admit at least that much. The Alley Viper should be the chase figure in this assortment (though I assume to most people he is anyways).

Why?  Did they change the figure?  I thought it was just a new colour scheme?  Which to me doesn't change the craptacular nature of the figure.

Short packing figures, specifically for that reason is never a good thing.  The reasoning behind doing that with CC is fine.  It never would have done as well as Doc did as a mail away figure.  Most likely Hasbro would have been stuck with thousands of the figure.

I am assuming that he means they way they fly off the shelves as compared to the rest of the case...as in hard to find since every one seems to want multiples.

Well one dealer was selling them 2 for $5...the same same dealer was selling the first two dvd sets for $5 as well.....there were some good deals to be had at the joe con.

Yep, Just want to thank the whole joe canuck team again for putting the show together. It was my favorite con yet honestly (both US and CAN). I'm sure everyone appreciates the hard work in making this happen.

I was happy to spend some time with familiar faces and meet a few new ones. It's great to put some faces with the usernames here.

The wait in line was fun. Got you watch Pdaat, Roshan and crew playing monopoly. Got to meet shark and spectre along with some others in line.
