I'm thinking Hasbro Canada had a massive surplus of Movie Joes and vehicles, that they just want to get rid of.

This.

Great for getting deals, bad for the future of Joes in Canada. If PoC makes it here (I'm keeping my fingers crossed that some retailers will have it), I think we'll be seeing waaay less shelf space for it.

OB

I totally agree as well. While I do think we'll eventually see POC, it will be in limited supply and don't expect these things to be restocked.....remember how the 25th line was...and marvel universe figures.....that's how I'm predicting it....cross my fingers I'm wrong.

Agree.

I'm sure we'll see them soon enough. Give it a year and they will probably be on sale at the Big Bad Toy store for 50% off.

Not likely...it seems the big H decided to cut production numbers on these this year after the "spectacular" sales of their last two SDCC exclusives.

So with a lower production run and fans from both joes and wrestling realms wanting this figure.....will be tough me thinks.

People are thinking that Hasbro wouldn't invest in a new figure mold to only never use it again....we'll see. They made a new mold for Destro the year earlier and that has not been used again.

Yup, confirmed. I'm guessing every Wal-Mart probably has an end cap full of these for $10. I stopped by two different ones this week and each had about 20-30. Hard to pass up this sweet deal.

They also have those rip attacks vehicles for $3.....but I wouldn't even pay $1 for those...well maybe for $1 lol...

It's funny how Wal-Mart stocked the last wave of movie Joes straight to clearance for $5.

Then they restocked the bravos for $10 and lucky for us, the wave 3 of alphas for $8.....all straight to clearance.

Now after not seeing a night raven in a Wal-Mart for months, they have them massively stocked and again on clearance for $10.

I'm thinking Hasbro Canada had a massive surplus of Movie Joes and vehicles, that they just want to get rid of.

Life's short  :shifty:

Currently no one knows for sure how rare they may turn out to be or if they might end up in abundance, but I suppose you'd want to snatch them up sooner rather than later and not take any chances.

I check two Wal-Marts on the east end of Toronto.  Nada, including the ones in Pickering and south Oshawa.   I am getting fed up with Wal-Mart's f**ing crappy distribution.

Give it some time. It's been less than a week since these things just started popping up.

All the members from Montreal on here and only 3 of you at attending!??

Naturally, I'd love to attend and go with my Montreal crew. Still too early to tell though unfortunately.

I hadn't heard of any of these hitting the states yet.  There was a kmart.com fiasco where they had them "available" for a pretty long time but people would be actually sent the old wave with the other lava pod and have to return them.  I would like to get that leatherneck.

What is "with avec con com"?

That would be french.

Well actually...there's four different languages.

english, french, spanish, and I'll guess portugese (but I'd have to see the rest of the packaging)

I'd have to see the rest of the packaging though.

It's crazy how these things just showed up...when WM is putting them on clearance.

latinjoe...they are part of the sale...$9.99...definitely a steal for 2 figs and the bike!!

If only I could find the Mantis and the Snarler...Let me know if you see them Madman at a Zellers near you. Would love to get them.

I know one zellers had one of each of the ones you're looking for. I saw them when the sale started, but haven't been back there since. Would you want me to pick them up for you if they are still there the next time I go? What happens if they only have one of the two...you still want it?? I know some other zellers have been cleaned out of most vehicles.

I know who that is..... hmmm... Strange.

Mike, everyone had to sign for their set/provide ID so I'm sure you know who the sets went to.

I can tell you and everyone else that the set belonged to a true joe fan, a real good guy and a buddy of mine who made the trip with the rest of the montrealers. He was in front of me with #29, I still have my #30. He doesn't post on the boards. It was sold because my buddy needed some dough and decided he could do without the set. If his intention was to sell the set all along, he would have done so immediately after the con when they were going for $700+. Latinjoe22 can vouch for this person's character.

Also, we only know of 15 sets that were sold, but I'm sure some of the sets were sold privately so no one would ever be aware they were ever sold. I believe at least 20-25 of these sets have changed hands.

Quote from: "B"
I don't see the problem. For me if he wants to sell to make a little cash its his right to do so. His reasons are his own.

If someone has purchased something they can do whatever they like. If someone waited in line and paid to go to the con and paid for their set, they can do whatever they choose. However, if at the next con, the set again is limited to 100 and I bring like 25 of my friends, are the first in line and get them get them to each buy a set, is it ok for me do that and resell the 25 sets solely for profit? Is this right? Morally, I don't think so...but it will also happen and cannot be prevented. Look at all the other cons SDCC for example, you have people who live nearby and every year attend with the sole purpose to pick of as much as they can and resell.....no expenses for travel, food, etc.

Quote from: "B"
I understand all that. All I'm saying is for me, if I wanted something that badly I'd make sure I was there when it was first sold. If your thinking of spending $500+ it would probably be worth the trip to the con.
So, if you really wanted a set and planned to go, but had a family emergency or could not get work off....then the secondary market is the only option.

Lots of people complain about what others pay on the secondary market, but everyone has a right to do whatever they want. What most people always fail to understand that there is costs of travel, time, rooming, food (in most cases) when attending the cons.

So even if someone pays more on the secondary market, it's still cheaper than had they actually attended.

I personally attend the con for the experience and like latinjoe said, the set is a bonus. It was so much fun to do the drive down with buddies, freeze my nuts off in line, meet new people and see familiar faces. I enjoy having the memories.
