Ottawa Sightings
« on: March 31, 2008, 12:04:59 PM »

Hey,

Figured I would create a Ottawa Sightings thread, like they have over at snowtroopers.ca (Canadian Star Wars Site).

If anyone has any GI Joe sightings to report from the O-Town area, lets post them here.

If you can, make sure you post the name of the store, date and time you saw them, and if they were Canadian or American based cards.

Time to help each other out!
Yo Joe

Figured I'd stick this in here... anyways, over the weekend The wife and I made our bi-monthly trip to Watertown, New York. I always love going there as there is such a good chance of finding GI Joe stuff as they have a Walmart, Target and Kmart there.

I have to say I was quite disappointed this trip as I only came home with a Wave 3 comic pack Tomax & Xamot

Kmart had a complete wave 3 Comic set up for grabs @ 9.99 each
Target had part a few more Comic Sets, and one single (Scarlett)
Walmart was completely shelled out. Even though they had 4 or 5 hooks for them.

I don't know if these figures are just that popular in the states, or the over the boarder shopping by comic book stores has greatly increased.

All I know, is that as a fan, it sucks that I can't find want I want to buy.

Aren't we in competition with each other Sean?   :shifty:

... just kidding. Pickings seem slim at the moment. I'll keep an eye out. Looking for anything in particular?

Sean - I stopped by a few Zellers on the way home tonight. I found and picked you up Canadian card Flash, Snow Job and CG. 7.99 ea - You can have them at cost when you swing by.

Hoodie CC, CG and Destro still at the Zellers on St Laurent. Comic Packs (2x CC / Duke, 2x Scarlett / Hawk) still at Gloucester Centre, 14.99.

Incidentally, there were some SW Evolutions packs at the St-Laurent Zellers, ones I'd never seen before. There also seemed to be a few interesting Clone & Stormtrooper packs. SW Comic Packs at both locations. Feel free to crosspost at Snowtroopers.ca.

Cheers,

P.

Was the Destro at Zellers an American Carded figure? And I sent you an e-mail, but were you looking for the Armored Cobra Commader?

I'll send ya an email about the figs you picked up. Thanks

yeah, haven't been there recently, but they have had them before. Personally I would rather find them at retail, then pay higher Specialty shop prices.
