G.I. Joe: Cobra (warning - spoilers)
« on: February 07, 2010, 04:54:49 PM »

I just finished reading the G.I. Joe: Cobra TPB and couldn't help but feel that the G.I. Joe-verse has undergone a complete transformation over the past decade. For the first time I didn't feel like I was reading a nostalgia-trip or a fan-fiction (two overwhelming characteristics of the Devil's Due run)

I've always had a particular affinity for the '87 Joes, so it was nice to see them presented with some depth. Though it's a shame about the fate of Jinx. I wish my favourite characters wouldn't meet such untimely ends in the comics... at least this one wasn't so gratuitous. I'm curious to see where this series goes with Part II.

It's refreshing to see the franchise treated with some reverence.
