I think my area is getting a TRU Express.
« on: October 21, 2010, 10:28:11 AM »

I was in the parking lot behind the Lowes/Future Shop at Warden/Eglinton today when I saw a TRU truck pull up behind a closed down store and started unloading a couple skids of boxs.  I wasn't close enough to see what was on the boxes, but there were both Hasbro and Mattel boxes.  I can only assume that they are planning to open up soon a TRU express for the holidays in the closed down store.

Yes.  They are in the US and mostly open around Christmas season.  They usually open in small locations (inside malls usually) and have pretty much the same stock as the regular TRUs.  However there are reports from the US that some of the TRU Express locations were getting cases of wave 5 vehicles (Stinger, Arctic HISS, etc), so I'm hoping the same happens here.

There's one that I know of in my area.  It didn't have the wave 5 or the hall of heroes that is also showing up at these for 5 bucks each.  So far, based on the reports, it seems like most of these stores don't have the stuff (yet?).  The joe section is pretty limited at the one I was at.

Wait now. Hall of Heroes for $5.00? Wave 5 of the vehicles?

Any chance this will show up in normal TRU stock?

I just discovered another one in striking distance and called them.  No wave 5 or hoh.

Cool. I have one near me as well, but I have no idea why since there is a big one near me already.

I wonder if they have any G.I.Joe figures on sale for $2.98.

Well they finally opened.  Nice layout inside.  However, NO JOES!!!!!  Small selection of most boys action figures including Real Heroes.

Only thing of note was that I was able to snag a comic series Iron Monger from the Iron Man line.  There was one still left after I bought one.

Another sad note is that they had this dinky little vinyl sign above the door to mark it as a TRU Express.  Seriously it was so small that you couldn't read it from across the parking lot.
