I can feel your pain, as I know you really loved the HATE set.

I wish you Best of luck with the auctions.

On a similar note, If you have a Timbit figure, I'm interested.

Yeah I am heartbroken about having to give it up.

Sorry, but I only had this year's set as a Joecanuck exclusive.

I dunno, I guess I am just really unsure when continuities overlap with no reason. It's never occurred to me that Resolute could be a place where multiple universes overlap. Even as a little kid I'd have never had any off-scale figures playing with my Joes, not even correct scale figures from other lines were kosher with me. So that's probably coloring my thinking about this. Iron Klaw is a cool toy, but not canon GI Joe to me, and definitely not from the same universe as the CG in my mind. If there was some explanation about the Resolut-o-verse being some kind of Crisis on Infinite Earths situation, then fine, but just jumping in with a IK lookalike, I dunno, made me confused.

If I'd gotten this with a toy in printed form I'd be more likely to have "got" the point. Without a toy in the right scale, I just don't click with IK or similar in ARAH/Resolute.
But the comic pretty clearly establishes the Iron Klaw Trooper as not being the Iron Klaw from GIJoe Extreme, but rather as a new Cobra trooper type that just happens to ressemble Iron Klaw from Extreme.

It's called a design carry-over. I guess since GIJoe's never really had that before, unlike Transformers, it's normal for it to be confusing.

I understand what you are saying, but I think most people are saying that they don't like the choice. It may not have been a  good idea when Hasbro uses characters from the "dark" days of JOE.  TFs generally carry over popular designs from mostly G1, and that is why it works.   Matt Trakker, a popular character from another line completely, was a popular choice.  A character from a not popular version of Joe, not so much.  Add on the story which makes this character "super badass" above the supposed already elite and it just doesn't work as well for me personally.

Nothing wrong with doing it, but I would have preferred other charcters.

I'm surprised by the negative reactions. I was really along for that ride. Technically there was already a Cobra elite trooper called Claw. Heck, that figure even looks like Iron Claw. This one comic ties the ARAH, Extreme, and GvC eras together, with nothing saying it could not fit somewhere in the Resolute universe.

My personal opinion is that Resolute is more "mature" and quite frankly Iron Klaw is just too far out and connected to a weaker JOE version.

I would have preferred a comic pack with the Resolute style CG and a Cobra Trooper.  Thus switching up the comic pack, keeping it Resolute and making for a more realistic story (testing a trooper to get to the elite CG).

Excellent to deal with.  Keeps the lines of communication open during the entire process.

Definitely worth dealing wtih in the future.

So yeah, it was supposed to be an Iron Klaw figure.

Here is the link on theterrordrome.com to the prototype:

All Across Canada / Re: Will Wal-Mart have a sale on GI Joe any time soon?

From my travels I think that Walmart has restocked the two packs.  I'm hoping that we get the battle stations soon.

So what are we looking at here as figures?

I can safely say I think one of the figures from this "could'a been" comic pack is a Resolute Cobra Trooper body (red) with a CG head.

The question is what was the second?  I would be dumbfounded if it was an Iron Klaw Trooper, but considering there was no other "character" in the comic, who else could it have been?  It might have been an interesting idea, and the execution might have been something to behold.  However I can't get the "extreme" show out of my head every time I see that head.

Looking at it closer, the Iron Klaw Trooper would probably have a new head and the shoulder pad/straps would be like most "add-ons" that could be removed.  The hands could be fully painted Viper (ugh I know), the body could be any number of characters, and the legs I can only think of HISS Drivers as a close facsimile.

Great story idea.  Really dumb execution.  Overall this was a great story, but someone once again trying to add another "badass" trooper level is dumb.   Shoehorning in a character from another era is worse.

That's the part that is driving me nuts. I just paid $22.50 for that Serpent Armor set when for the exact same money I could have bought another Tiger Rattler. Man, if it wasn't fior the fact that I'm affraid these will dry up fast I would probably have passed on it for now.

I assumed the same thing as well.  It doesn't look like these will be re-stocked in the USA.  It has been almost two months since they were released in Target stores.

The Zellers were I picked up the Serpent Armours had 8 of them.  None of the other sets are even moving, which isn't a good sign.  But some Greek army building plague wiped out 5 Serpent Armours due to the sale.   :shifty:

Yeah, the local Zellers (Eglinton/Birchmount) put out for of each from this wave.  I picked up 3 Serpent Armors and 1 Rocket Pack.  When I went back to price adjust the other Serpent was gone, but nothing else.  I imagine this will be common.

I got mine. I saw one with no silver paint on the left leg and thought "I'll probably see that one ebay as a rare production run figure".  ::)

I'm still not blown away by the Serpent Armor but I have one now. I'd rather have one of the red ones.

Blasphemy!!!!!

I really love the mold.  I never had one as a kid and now it is great.  I love that most figures will fit in it from any era.

I also love the Viper Commando in that colour scheme.  I don't care much for the mold, but I like the colour scheme.   Although one of them is destined for a custom.
