2007 Joe Convention - How, Where?

During the last 48 hours, a chance to attend (for free) has been opened up. I refused it, someone else took it, now he's giving it back to me since I'm able to actually go.

So.... anybody work out how they're getting down there yet and where they'll be staying?
My original plan was to fly down, rent a car, and sleep in it.

But - I know more than enough people that I shouldn't have to do that. ;-)

SO..... anyone?... What are you plans? Or have you not made them yet?

I'm going for 100% sure now.  Flying-just looking for cheap flight.  Will be staying at the Con. Hotel-but have yet to book a room and I'm not apposed to sharing the room and cost for the room. :mrt:

Not sure yet. I have to pay for daycare starting in August so money is about to get tied up real fast.

Who'd you book your flight with Bryce - and how much?

As for the rooms, If we can get a few people to stay in one, then it should get much cheaper.
Perhaps someone that is driving can bring an air mattress and use the floor?
I don'tmind sharing a room, but I'm not sharing a bed.  :shifty:

So far, my plan is to still rent a car and sleep in that - yes, I'm serious.

Is this your first MC con Mike? if so, I dare you take Joe Canuck (the travelling version), Black Ice and Shiver and enter them in the customs contest. I'd be interested if that would get any extra attention.

I nearly went to the one in Florida, but obviously couldn't leave the store for that long.
Now - there's nothing stopping me from going.

I'd take all 3 of mine, and my Sigma Six Black Ice.

I still need to get my passport done thanks to the idiot in power.

Mike, for the sake of humanity, please do not sleep in your car.  Unless you want to have a case of bad BO and join 90 % of the people that stink up the joint, where the heck are you going to shower?   

As for hotel rooms, it makes sence to have two per room, unless you want to sleep on the floor.  I did this in NO with only a pillow.  I wasn't the greatest way to sleep, even though I couldn't sleep in the bed on the first night.

As for sleeping in the car... you know Pete. I hadn't thought that far ahead.... I guess that one is out. Unless there's a fountain nearby.  :shifty:

I think we could get 3 in a room easily. They offer Cots right? If someone is driving there, they could bring an airmatress if they have one...

Is there a scheduale for the week yet? I don't think I need all 4 days do I?

I booked my flight with Expedia.ca out of Buffalo it cost me $220 CAN taxes in leaving Fri morn.n, but last I checked the price went up to around $283.

Wed and Thurs are reserved for Tours.  The fun starts Fri with parachute drop 8" red ninjas. No word on seminars and guest appearances times yet.  If you are going to enter any contest the registration is 7:00am to noon Fri.  Dealer room open to guests at 2:00pm

Lowest I can find for Toronto is $438 CND round trip

Round trip.  For some reason (Canadian taxes) it has always been cheaper to fly out of the States even with the security tax added.  Last year I flew to Tampa Florida for $59 US one way.  Same flight out of Toronto $345 CAN.  I don't get it?
