Millennium Falcon: Worth it?
« on: December 02, 2008, 03:35:36 PM »

So the massive Millennium Falcon is now priced at $145 and change @ Wal~Mart.  It's getting pretty tempting but I was wondering if anyone here had bought one, and if so....is it worth the money and the amount of space that it would take up?

Thanks!

I so want one, but I can't bring myself to pay even close to that price. I think the max I would pay would be $89

It looks amazing.  If I had the cash to start collecting the new Star Wars toys, I'd buy it.  It's a tad pricey, but it IS the Millennium Falcon.  She's got it where it counts

I can tell you on Christmas Day.  My brother-in-law bought it and the AT-TE for my nephews.

It should be pretty amazing to watch them when they see the size of the boxes.

I really want an AT-TE but everyone is saying how the legs won't stay on and the transport won't stay upright without modifying the legs.  I'm not willing to pay that much for a toy I need to fix.
Walmart U.S. had a promotion on leading up to Black Friday where you could buy the Falcon and get a bonus vehicle free.  I kind of wished I had got one but spent my money elsewhere.

There's an EASY fix to the AT-TE, with a video on U-Tube showing what to use and how to fix it.  Trust me, its an incredibly easy fix, and should not deter you from getting the toy.

Oh man, that Falcon is probably teh most covetable toy I've seen since the days of Joe aircraft carrier (did anyone really have that?).

Here is the thing: I quit Star Wars toys cold turkey when Episode I figs shipped. I can't look back. The money saved has allowed me to buy a lot of more important things, like food. Up to then, the only SW 90s thing I didn't have was the AT-AT remold, and it seriously caused me intense pain to not be able to afford it, as my original Empire version has seen much better days.

Now that Joes are AMAZING again, well I am gonna have to cut back on food. Nevertheless, I will have to just be content to covet that beautiful Falcon. I still have my old one from the 70s, but it's all browned/yellowed and well, it's missing nearly every part by now.

That is a little more reasonable. Let me know if it evr hits $75.00 and I'll think about it.

You do not need to contact Hasbro--there's a Youtube video that covers how to fix the toy--for less than a few bucks and avisit to home Depot. The video covers all the details.
