This one is so minor that I'm almost embarassed to post it...haha.

I just replaced his head with the Charbroil one and now it's shiny instead of dull.

However, I like the chrome, but have realized that the silver mask that Hasbro used does match the silver belt and knee pads better though.

Steel Brigade
« Reply #63 on: February 24, 2011, 12:49:37 PM »

This started off as a 25th Dial-tone custom that never got finished cause I saw the Gijoeclub one and decided to get that.  I was undecided as to what to do with the figure until I found this Steel Brigade helmet while I was digging through my parts bin looking for something.

The only painting needed was the crotch area of the Airborne torso, and I removed the paint on the neck because the Dial Tone head I was using before had very pale skin.  I regret doing that now but I guess he has a turtleneck on underneath now.

Recipe:
head - Hard Master - basically just use a head that I have no other use for that fits nicely under the helmet
torso and arms - Airborne
hands, legs and gear - ROC Duke in Cobra 5 pack
helmet - Pit Commando

I like the new Skydive figure, but I wish his head wasn't the Flash head.  I had a head that mswi/heretic had painted for me a while ago for another project.  Decided to use that on Skydive.

For Freefall, it's just a Luke Skywalker head.

Interrogator:  Nothing fancy here.  The legs are from the ROC SRO Destro, the holster and head are from the Viper Lockdown set from 2006 and the body and arms are from ROC Destro.

Quick Kick: This is just the POC Quick Kick with the 25th Quick Kick gear.  The only real modification was the backpack so that it would sit lower.  I relocated the peg.

You have to modify the Star Wars heads a little.  The hole is usually too big for the Joe neck posts.

After seeing the POC Recondo, I knew I had a simple way to make a Salvo finally.  No painting required.  Here's the recipe:

Head: modified Star Wars General Weir
left lower arm: TF Flint
left hand: ROC Breaker
accessories: vintage Salvo
rest is POC Recondo

I haven't decided what to do with the tab on the launcher yet.  I'm considering removing it completely or modifying the peg to fit the new style figures.  What do you think?  Is there any point making the backpack fit on his back?

I'm glad you did post it. I stole your idea and it works great.
