I am in the theatre now. It is sold out. Many people with Joe t shirts on. Lots of people talking about how much they are looking forward to it and what they have read about it.

Not sure what to say other than I am contemplating taking down the Snake-Eyes site.

I see NO reason for you to do that because of a movie that you didn't like.

Wait? DID you see it yet? Or did you just jump on the "I hate the movie without seeing it or giving it a chance" bandwagon?  ;D

I liked the spin they used for the movie.  It had some cheezie moments but all around I liked it.

My favorite part was seeing Stealth Viper set up in the lobby with some of his Joe figs. ;D

Just got back from seeing it and I really liked it.   Now the question is did you guys pick up on some of the  stickers from Joe vehicles that were used in the credits.   These were on the big joe shield as it roitated around.  I know I saw the Sigma Six logo  and  a stylized 777.

Slow down.  I saw it at 1535 today, even have the ticket.  And I wanted to like it but all the film accomplished was make me want to take down my site in fear of being associated with anything to do with the movie but have added a blurb on the homepage in the meantime to distance myself from the film.

I am reserving a possible full review post on my journal/site for a bit until others who want to see it don't get any spoilers.

I am looking forward to taking my three sons to GI JOE ROC on the weekend . They liked the action of both Transformers movies and are looking forward to the action in this movie as well.

There was a GI JOE Sunbow cartoon extravaganza the other night the kids watched to get psyched up for the big movie.

It was good (I think this has been said before).  Not great but quite good.  I too had a feeling of nostalgia in a few scenes of my childhood.  Far from all the negative reviews I have heard earlier in promotion of the movie.

It was a nice, simple action romp. I enjoyed the characterization of Duke (with one small issue), Snakes was dead on, and Rip-Cord was fine (Wayans did a good job).

Now, give me Stalker in the sequel!

What surprised me most was that before the movie (which I saw at the Drive-In outside of Grand Bend), there were a few guys with GIJoe tees there.  Anyone from the board?

I really really liked it. It was a fun ride and had a different spin on the Joe history.

I saw nothing wrong with the CGI and would see it again.

Put it this way, after the movie I went over and bought 6 more Joe toys, including Rip Cord which is odd because before the movie I wasn't going to buy him. After the movie he didn't seem so lame and I can see kids wanting him, so I thought I should get one before they are all gone.

I guess the previews really gave the wrong feeling to the movie. I thought the sigma suits were going to kill the film. I was wrong.

Guys (and girls), I am glad that most of us like the movie...we really can't get too snooty about a film that represents a children's toy concept that we as grown adults collect.

When I got into collecting in 1996, I never, EVER would have thought I'd see a big budget live-action G.I. Joe film

I thought the film was extremely fun and I was actually on the edge of my seat for a lot of it. I am a HUGE "Real American Hero" fan; watched the entire run of the Sunbow cartoon (even a fair amount of DIC episodes), read all 155 issues of the Marvel run several times and despite knowing how the story "should" go, I have no problems with the changes in Rise of Cobra. Every iteration of G.I. Joe is different to varying degrees. Even Sunbow and Marvel contradicted each other within the same toyline.

Rise of Cobra is a blast, plain and simple - it's gonna be a long 2 years waiting for the next installment!

PS I just got the Assault/Defense of Cobra Island boxsets and they are really awesome!
