« on: December 08, 2009, 06:15:25 PM »
Part 1 of JoeCustoms.com's entries for CustomCon is up on TheFwoosh.com http://www.thefwoosh.com/2009/12/cc24-s ... ustoms-com

JoeCanuck's very own The Mike and Raptor pitched in with packaging and bios respectively.

Keep checking TheFwoosh for the rest of the entries.  On Monday these will be going on ebay with all of the proceeds going to the Hasbro Children's Hospital.

What is this JoeCustoms you speak of? :D  Good stuff.  The young Piper has been filed away for later photoshopping.  I miss those old costumes.

That's easy, more coverage for those of us waiting for someone to post anything about what happened.

Because I'm really, really coming this year, Niagra Falls on Saturday would be the easiest.  I'm bringing the wife and we were going to Niagra Falls anyway so having it there would just make it a lot more enjoyable for both of us since then she wouldn't have to do any of the JoeCanuck stuff if she didn't want to.  Having it Saturday would give me Sunday to get back for work on Monday.  Like General Hawk said though that means I would have to take off at least Friday before the meet.  I was probably going to take off a few days before anyway since it is Niagra Falls.   Having it on Sunday would mean taking off days on both sides of the weekend.

According to Beav, expect some overall site slowness.  This is due to the site being at or near capacity for the shared server it is on.  I expect it to get a little worse as people find more free time aroudn the holidays.  Beav's eventual plans are to have it moved to its own server.  Just don't expect it anytime soon.

Yearly CanJoeCon Discussion / Joe Meet 2007 Information (Early Planning)
« on: October 12, 2006, 05:37:20 PM »
Haven't replied because, well, lots of reasons including I probably won't be going in April because of my wedding.  The Shoe Addict would be upset if I missed that one.

Anyway, here are some ideas if it were me.  A YMCA or school gym.  Lots of room.  All of them are eager to get money.

Town hall or meeting rooms.  Here we could rent out a decent size Bingo hall no problem.  I happen to have one in my development that gets used for birthday parties a lot.

A back room of a restaurant.  If you buy their fod they give you guys the space.  That includes McDonalds and their playland. :D

Off Topic / The Meat
« on: October 11, 2006, 04:30:42 PM »
As far as toy news goes, it is pretty old since these have been showcased at Toyfare NY, and the comic conventions, as well as a special Philly preview.

The story from Jakks was that they wanted to include this as an acessory but it wasn't possible because of cost issues so they made it a seperate figure altogether to get it in the hands of fans they knew would like it.  Weird? Yes, but I got to tip my hat to Jakks for thinking outside the box and being loyal to the fans.  Any other toy company and The Meat would have been dropped from the assortment very quickly.

Hey that's really great news.  It's rare finding someone you love that loves you back but finding someone that finds your interests interesting is truly special.

General Joe Talk / The JoeCanuck Figure.
« on: June 30, 2006, 05:48:04 PM »
Here's an idea.  Hold onto the figure and don't sell it.  Next Joe Canuck meet, raffle the figure off.  That way, chances are, whoever wins it is someone who really wants it and deserving for making the trip.

Here's another idea.  Give it to Dryhawk for being such a devoted fan that he is essentially co-sponsoring the next meet.

General Joe Talk / Ace was part of the original team?!
« on: June 16, 2006, 06:35:31 PM »
If you read the original Snake Eyes trilogy many people beleive the Huey pilot that picked up Stalker, Storm Shadow, and SE, was non other than Wild Bill.  I also believe Doc appeared in the comic as a medic before he was actually made part of the team.
