Has anyone purchased anything from the GI JOE Fan Club Store?
« on: August 15, 2011, 08:43:48 PM »

Title says it all. I missed out on the last two waves of figures because of life - Now, I managed to find some at my local comic store but they were way too pricey ($13 and up). I noticed the GI Joe Club store has the last 2 waves decently priced but the S&H on that site is way over the top for items below $100 (it does get better the more you order...). I've all but given up looking for figures in stores - which I love doing. So I think I'm just gonna bite the bullet and place a huge $200+ order with them. I calculated the cost versus S&H and it does become worthwhile.

So my question is, what experiences have people had with the GI Joe club store? How long has delivery taken? Any border issues? Fees, taxes, etc.

Thanks

I've bought from the MC club in the past. Shipping is expensive with them.

Try checking out Hal. He's a sponsor to this site and if you drop over $100 on an order he'll ship for free (I believe).

He's a straight shooter and easy to deal with.

To answer your question about the GIJCC.  I have ordered from them many times.  They may be pricey but they are reliable.  I have yet to pay any extra fees for duty or taxes from them.

Hal and the other sponsers are great too, so will not go wrong with what ever you choose.

Thanks for the replies. I did check out HJL and unfortunately they didn't have any of the figures I was looking for. Is it safe to say that Walmart and TRU have given up on carrying POC? I've gone to a few places and was able to find a Cobra Commander at TRU at Hwy 7 and Vaugn Mills. The Walmart in that area had nothing.

I'd totally understand if these figures were crap and took a long time to move but it seems that whenever any store stocks up on figures they fly off the shelves. I'm at a loss. Especially when every store I go to has loads of Star Wars figures that never seem to go anywhere.

Try Hub City Toys.  http://hubcitytoys.ecrater.com/ They might stil have sets of waves 5&6 available.
