Are there social events outside of the convention?  Meaning drinks at a local bar one night, or something like that ?  Just to sort of bring everyone together, so people can meet.

Last year Sunday breakfast at the hotel was the place to be. Eat and mingle with fans, and some guests of the show might join you.

I got my ticket today.  Quick question, the ticket says August 10 @ 6:30pm does that mean we get the Friday Preview Night for free or do we still have to pay extra for that?

For the ticket people, you get in Friday with the ticket at no extra cost.
That's the perk of the ticket, early access.

People that don't order tickets will have to pay $25.00 for admission which includes Friday and Saturday.

Obviously it makes sense to pre-purchase tickets.

"Early bird" admission to the event! Minus the cool guests, the prizes, the guest panels which are reserved for the whole day of Saturday of course. Basically you get early access to the dealer room and there may be more this year or not, but I'll let The Mike fill you in on this part. I'm only an attendee like you, except that I'm also talking from my last year's very positive canjoecon experience . If memory serves, last year's early bird admission lasted from 7pm to 9pm.

Last year, Friday night consisted early access to the dealer room, early registration and a chance to pick up your previously secured Con set.

But the best part is the chance to socialize with Joe fans.  Heck, bring a case of beer and even Gary Godsoe and noted author James Kavanaugh(sp?) will hang with you.
