Customs / Battle Corps Customs by OB
« on: July 31, 2013, 09:48:35 AM »
Hi guys,

I have not posted these here yet, but if you follow a couple of other boards, you may have seen these. I put together a project I called ''Battle Corps Month'' over at my blog: http://oreobuildersblog.blogspot.ca/

I have been rolling out a new custom or the every day during July. All of the customs were based off figures from the 1992-95 era, including DEF, Battle Corps Rangers (a never-produced 1995 sub-line proposed by Hasbro) and, mostly, Battle Corps.

So, since July is over (or will be in a few hours), here is the complete run all in one shot.

Enjoy!

OB

Battle Corps Month Day 1: Duke

Battle Corps Month Day 2: Shipwreck

Battle Corps Month Day 3: Lifeline and Stalker

Battle Corps Month Day 4: G.I. Joe!

Battle Corps Month Day 5: Cobra Commander and Ace

Battle Corps Month Day 8: Colonel Courage

Battle Corps Month Day 9: Mutt and Junkyard

Battle Corps Month Day 12: Grunt and Heavy Duty

The early to mid ‘90s wasn’t all about neon colors and spring-loaded accessories. There were other things happening in the GI Joe franchise. One of those things was the return of 12 inch figures. Branded as ‘’Hall of Fame’’, Grunt and Heavy Duty were introduced in 1992-93 and were part of a 6-figure line-up. They were meant to be ‘’Basic Training’’ versions of the characters and only included their khaki outfits and a rifle.

Battle Corps Month Day 13: Barricade

Battle Corps Month Day 14: Big Bear

Battle Corps Month Day 15: Bulletproof

Battle Corps Month Day 16: Cutter

Battle Corps Month Day 17: Headhunters

Battle Corps Month Day 18: Backblast

Customs / GI Joe Train by OB (Oreobuilder)
« on: June 14, 2013, 03:57:36 PM »
I know I have an existing customs thread, but it the mods will indulge me, I believe that this project should have its own thread.  :)

Well, this is it. This is the result of about 5 years of planning and slowly buying train cars.

A little background. At the very start of ARAH 1982-83, Tyco put out a GI Joe HO-Scale electric train set (Pic is from Yojoe.com)

I drooled over this set for a long time. I already had an electric train, so I didn't ask my parents for another. Instead, I played with the one I had and added some green army men and accessories and pretended that it was a GI Joe train. I even played with my regular ARAH figures even if the train was wayyy to small.

When I got back into Joes (2005ish), I discovered that in 1991, Hasbro was thinking of releasing this (again, thanks to Yojoe for the pic)

It never made it to store shelves, but when I found out about it, it reawakened my childhood memories.

About 5 years ago, I decided that it was time to finally make the train that I always wanted for my Joes. I looked into different scales of trains that I could buy and modify. One day, I bought a Playmobil box car on super clearance for 5$. When I stood ME Joes next to it, it looked good, so I set out to buy all the cars and the engine and paint them. After a few false starts and waiting for the latest Playmo train to arrive, here it is: My GI Joe train!

Enough of my ramblings, on to the pics. Enjoy!

Customs / 30th Anniversary Dial-Tone by OB
« on: May 23, 2013, 08:28:51 AM »
I haven't posted any new customs in a while. I have been working on a few side projects (including a commission job for a fellow Joe fan) over the last few months. But I have decided to take a break from all that for a few days and post up a few new customs. The first one is a redo of my Dial-Tone custom.

In my opinion, the Club's Dial-Tone is... lacking (no disrespect to the Club, they do fantastic things, but DT was disappointing. I digress) and I never was satisfied with my attempt using 25th parts. So here is my new version, 30th anniversary style, of Dial-Tone.

Enjoy,

Customs / Slaughters Marauders Footloose and Mutt
« on: February 15, 2012, 07:47:27 AM »
I love what Hasbro did with theb 7-Pack Marauders, so I wanted to complete the team. I mostly used parts from SM Lowlight and SM Falcon to keep the camo pattern intact. Surprisingly, matching the green and the blue was easy.

I'm still not sure if I want to paint Mutt's boots and kneepads black. What do you guys think?

Anyway, enjoy.

For Sale or Trade / OB's Space Clearing Sale Page
« on: January 28, 2012, 08:50:38 AM »
I'm trying to clear up some space in my collectibles room, so I'd like to find some good homes for these. Prices don't include shipping. For shipping, I use Canada Post Airmail. Unfortunately, their rates are not as good as the USPS, so please keep that in mind. I'll be happy to give a shipping quote before hand. My prices are negociable and I will be happy to work with you to come a total (price + shipping) that is fair for both of us. Please PM me with any questions. Everything is from a smoke-free and pet-free home and was used only for display.

Due to the high number of requests and in an effort to be fair to everyone, I will hold an item for 24 hours after sending out a shipping quote. If I don't receive a reply within 24 hours, the items will be available to the next person in line. Sorry guys, just trying to be fair to everyone.
