Yah..I remember 5 years ago i had six 25th ann. joes from walmart, thats it!.  And the pimp daddy destro was topping out @ 400$. It totally dicouraged me from getting more into collecting more 25th stuff back then because it was SO EXPENCIVE. But 9 months ago i was able to pick up the gold p.didi destro for 100$ MINT! I picked back up collecting the 25th line. Now i have 112 figures both canadian and u.s card. A few 7 packs, dvd set, one 5 pack, and 8 vehicles plus the ultimate battle pack. I got bit by the bug BAD!. Well..no wonder..? With the prices so low now a days. Im not rich by any means. I just try to get 100$ or 200$ worth of g.i joe stuff every week. And after only 9 months i dont have very much further to go till i have everything in the 25th ann. line. But i know its gonna be a pain and expensive to score a rowdy roddy pipper.!  The yellow stalkers are on ebay every once and a while so that one shouldnt be to hard to get..

Yeah I can relate...It started for me the same way, getting about 10 of my fave joes from the 25th, and placing them with ones I still had as my collection as a kid. That got me to get out my old joe stuff and transformers, and one summer I decided get parts for my rattler and whale to complete them...then the POC and 30th lines came out and I got my fave figures from them, was totally impressed over them compared to what was lacking in the 25ths....it all came back around again to my 80's joes in collecting the ones I didn't have and in some cases get parts for joes that needed it, and sometime a new joe entirely from the one I had...I found getting the vintage joes was my #1 thing and the Modern Era joes was #2...made allot of good friends on here, that helped me out with my collection. When special occasions come along I get another vehicle or accessories, like this christmas from hubcitytoys.com I got my 1983 HQ and earlier this year I complete my original 13, and a good bud on here sold my his collector's case for them.

Happy collecting 3400!

Hey bud, great to hear your into the vinatge stuff.
I could have gone that route also ( vintage filling in with modern )

I used to work @ a second hand store for 8 years. Unloading the and sorting the stuff that came in. I know, i know collecters paradise right..?
Well it was. LOL
I had some half desend figures from every imaginable toy line for like 10 cents each. Picking up all kinda of extra accesories and figures.
Besides the stuff i had left over as a kid i had all this extra cool  swag laying around. And being so fond of g.i joe, my collection ( although i didnt view it as a collection because it was loose ) grew to a nice perportion.

I had vintage joe stuff mainly from 82 to 89. A lot of the early stuff. ( this was 7 years ago mind you when the vintage was rock bottom price and the modern was going through the roof ).. I sold entire joe collection for 250$ NO LIE! Kicking myself today. LOL
I had 30 + vehicles
150 figures easy ( dont know if they where all complete or not ? some where, some where not )

I remember telling the guy " look this is a good deal for you because the skystricker plane i have is 98% complete ( parachute missing ) and its going for 130$ so you might aswell gimmy the 250$. Go home and be happy.

That guy was probly creaming in his pants the whole time he was dealing with me. LOL

But, In retrospect im not diapointed because im what they call a completist. And @ that time or in this day and age i could not see myself trying to complete the vintage loose g.i joe series from 82 to 90 whatever. Thats a big reason why i sold them. I knew i could have gotten more out of them if i took my time selling, but i wanted them gone before i desided to COLLECT THEM ALL !

Plus i like in the package stuff.

But still, i should be kicking myself for selling loose figures for 250$ back then ( 2007 ) taht i could take my time with and make 2000$ now.

Lets just chalk it up to " oh well " and move on. ....I love my 25th ann. sealed mint on card collection in starcases.. LOL

Hey i picked up a vintage Devilfish vehicle with box blue prints and instructions, plus a mint 100% complete 1983 torpedo and mint 100% complete mj. bludd. All loose. I need 27$ for the whole lot to break even. You interested.? LOL

Thanks for the offer on the vintage stuff but i have all that already and in next to mint condition!

We all have those moments of "I wish I did, or didn't" Me too!

I love hunting down the parts for thing and completing them. My fave buy the past year was the completing of my original 13 joes, with the figure collector's case from a friend and the 83 headquarters..i've got a good 50+ vechiles and that's not even my modern stuff.

My fave modern figures have to be the stormshadow: renegades and the POC low light...as well as the definitive snake eyes that came out with POC...I'm only looking for one figure (when I can afford it) and that is POC hawk.

Cheers!

Ya, i got the renagades storm shadow too. hes pritty sweet !
I would love to get the p.o.c lowlight. He was one of my favorite figs. back in the day.

Why the hell is the p.o.c line so expencive anyway...?  Limited release or something...?

I remember seeing it on the shelf for a little while...All i bought from that line was the steel brigade. If i knew then the where gonna be worth so much ( the p.o.c line in general ) I woulda bought all i could. But i thought they looked dumb @ the time.

Another one of those woulda/could/shoulda moments..... LOL

Funny because it's the other way here where I live, any of the other lines put the POC...most of the fig's I got from walnut's....lowlight I got him from hubcitytoys.com along with renegades Stromy later.

I have almost every figure and small vechile from that line...they where done so awesome...I need POC Hawk, quickkick, and Spirit...those where harder to get. But I got dusty, beachhead, duke, snake eyes, firefly, zartan and about a dozen more or so. I love them. The best line I've seen to date in the Modern Era (M.E.)...I have them all as 80's joes as well...I had to cherry pic the POC's because during the time from the 25th until now people were buying all the new joes and I was buying all the vintage ones i needed, people selling vintage stuff to get the new stuff...never made much sense to me.

R Stormy is awesome same with lowlight. I have there small parts in little ziplock bags and in folded clear tape so there is no way to loose them. :)

Are you interested in the following?:

GIJOE:
- Dragonfly (Band new, with Wild Bill or a DF with stickers)
- VAMP ( Comple w/ Clutch)
- MOBAT 1998 (W/ thunderwing and all his accessories and weapons)
- Conquest X-30 (Complete and includes Slipstream)

Cobra:
- Ratttler (Total complete with Wild Weasel, landing gear works, broken tab cockpit)
- HISS Tank (Compelete and great shape, driver has some wear)
- Sepentor & Air Chairot (Serpentor has all teeth, snake and robe. Chariot is complete)
- Ferrett ATV (Complete)

Figures:
- Road Block v1 (complete)
- Hooded Cobra Commander (complete with gun)
- Blowtorch (complete)

Basically looking for trade either Transformer G1 or some classics or joe stuff.

Cheers bro!

Ok, buddy, Heres the deal..
Yesterday i attempted my first custom job ever!!!
I had seen Propergrond's 30th artic hiss and hiss and 30th ann Vamp artic curoms. And im a HUGE fan of the artic stuff. Even though i dont have any vehicles of it in my collection. Im working on eventually getting the Exclusive target artic hiss in 25th. So anyway the only loose or boxed vehicles i have laying around where the skysweeper jet, 30th vamp, black dragon chopper and 30th skystricker.

This is what it looked like before; http://www.flickr.com/photos/99484714@N02/9379769341/#http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3744/9404129970_67c501c444_m.jpg

I dont want to post it on the custo forum till im 100% done but. This is what it looks like now

I still have some touch up paint work to do, And i dont wanna attatch the canopy till, i have all the excces red paint scrapped of the window. ( abd i havent desided how far into detail im going to go. Should i weather it...? Should it paint each rivate ? )

So to answer your question, YES, i think i would be interested in the hiss, conquest x-30 basically any cobra vehicle 100% complete loose with the sticker sheet un attached would be great.
Also i would be extremely interested in finding surplus cobra sticker sheets from any and all vehicles, because i dont know exactly what sticker im gonna need on what vehicle when...? So id buy all i could get. LOL

Feel free to send the pics to anybody you wanna show em too.

So how did i do for my first time...? Be BRUTALY honest!!!!

Hey bro,

I've always wanted to do some custom of my own. I think what you have started is really awesome and a good start is half the battle, as well as knowing being half the battle.

- Dragonfly i have has no stickers on it. Just like it came out of the box, also it doesn't have wild bill
- Conquest is in great condition, complete and is complete with figure
- Vamp is in great condition, complete but doesn't have clutch.
- MOBAT is a 1998 reissue with a different paint Thunder with it.
- Rattler is in aweseome shape, with wild weasel. The canopy has a broken tab in the hindge and one broken peg on the drivers's canopy.
- HISS tanks is in great shape, there is a bit of wear on the hisstank driver.
- Serpentor is in awesome shape, small tear in robe, has snake and all parts to the chariot. No broken teeth.
- Ferret ATV is in awesome shape no missing parts.

Everything has the stickers on it and in great shape only for the dragonfly...It's hard to part with already have one that has Canadian Stickers.

- Road Block v1 (complete)
- Hooded Cobra Commander (complete with gun)
- Blowtorch (complete)
- Mail away sgt. slaughter..missing batton.

What do you have to trade for? I'm also into Transformers G1 or classics (New era) or we could trade for joe stuff I don't have or you can buy it. I'll give you a good deal.

Your custom makes me want to do a custom on something...but I just don't have any paints etc, and the time.

Let me know your thoughts.

Barrie
