This version of Storm Shadow is a G.I. Joe so it does not have the Cobra logo.

It's like you were talking in third person, there...

George is gettin' upset!

To be honest, there are very few actually good free comics, on Free Comic Book Day.  They're all just cheap ad comics for all the titles they want you to buy

If you had to choose between that and a GI Joe Convention, I'd suggest the Convention.  At the very least, you can ask a friend (that isn't going to RI) to pick up the comics for you...

It's awesome for Canadians that want to go the the US Con...  Rhode Island is a lot easier to drive to.

Then, if the Can Convention was moved to a later weekend (Like, say, August Civic Holiday), Canadians could plan their summer vacation around it.

Seems like a decent deal.

(But I agree, if this is their way of trying to stomp out the Canadian Convention, it's really cheap of them.)

IDW comic panel:

GI Joe: Cobra volume two in Jan.  First issue cover has Chuckles in jail cell.

So awesome!  Can't wait for that one.  Thanks for the info!

Sounds like there's going to be some kick-butt comics coming up

Haha, I'm such a spaz...

I read "S.A.F. Helicopter w/Blades" and thought, "Why would they sell it without the blades?"...  'til I realized what was going on.  Duh.

True.  I guess it doesn't make too much of a difference, in the long run...

Eventually one of the 3 3/4 lines would have become hugely popular and sparked GI Joe's smaller size.  Might have well been Star Wars, but it could have been anyone.

Wonder what the next evolution will be.  The Combat/Galaxy/etc Heroes look like they're taking off, but no one else is copying them...  yet

Pretty cool video.  Definitely cool that it was the "original action figure".

Without the huge success of Kenner's Star Wars line, there'd be no 3 3/4" Joes as well.  A lot of thinks to thank for leading to the ARAH line.

I might check it out, but that's pretty expensive, for Giant Tiger.

They're supposed to be a discount store...   So much for that, I guess.

General Joe Talk / Re: Ever been embarrassed by your hobby?

I have so many other things to be embarrassed about, my hobbies are hardly worth the worry-effort.

When the cashier at Toys R Us looks over my stack of GI Joes and asks me if I need a gift receipt; I straighten my back, hold my head up high, look her in the eye and proudly declare "No, that's alright.  I'm fine."

I thought the same...  but I looked at the credits and it wasn't him.

The cast they got for this is amazing.  This thing was better cast than the movie!
