Well over at JediDefender they have a listing for the PIT (Movie) at $99.99.
Here is the link:

So I guess this will be an all new mold (YAY, I hope) and it will be pretty massive.
Can't wait to see pics.
Oh, and they also list the CLONE TURBO TANK for $99.99!!!!!

Now where am I going to store that? It sounds like it's going to be big.
I just hope these will show up in Canada. Shipping on something like that would probably cost about $30.00.

Given the cost and the fact that large playsets tend to languish on the shelves, anyone that pays the $99 is likely going to regret it. These guys are going to sit at full prices and get marked down.
The UBP is now down to $27 from the original price (which wasn't even that bad considering what you got for the price).
I believe Canada will get these. I believe that Canada will get the full movie treatment the same way we did with TF. Expect to see the figures and vehicles at your local grocery stores.
You'll also see Breakers pegwarming into 2012.

thats pretty cool, only thing that bothers me, is that I have found since the end of ARAH series, newer GI joe vehicles (i.e. Joe Vs Cobra), just don't have the same feel as they did back in the day. So unless its a reissue of the GI Joe Headquarters or something, I very much doubt I would buy this. just my two cents.
-
Like others, I don't know where I'd store it and don't want to buy it unless it is pretty similar to the 83 base. The original headquarters is one of the greatest toys ever made, but I doubt Hasbro sees it as a viable toy to remake. I expect lots of sound effects, shooting weapons and silly non-militaristic touches throughout. Still very interested to see images when they surface.

I never had the '83 base :( A friend of mine had it and I remember it to be pretty awesome.
I did have the later base, though... the one with the tall tower and spotlight. I really liked that version, so if it's similar... and a good price... I'd probably get it. Whether or not I can find a place for it is another question, but I know I'd eventually get it out on display.

Unless you wish to be disappointed, think rounded edges and sound effects.
I suspect that this is going to share an aesthetic closer to the VvsV era than the RAH era.

Let's also not forget that this will be based on the movie PIT. So whatever it ends up looking like on film, is likely how it will look in toy form.

And based on the size of the Pit talked about in interviews for the movie, the toy will be nowhere close to proper scale. It would take the better part of a house to be in scale with how big it is (apparently) in the film

That's a given with most toys. Accurate scale for anything (BMF included) would be too cost prohibitive and too large for most people.
I'm just wondering what size it will finally be? Everyone is talking about the measurements, but they are only for the shipping box, and who knows what it will end up being once everything is put together out of the box.
