I think its great news. I didn't hate the first one on first viewing but by the third time I saw it...I felt it all but killed GIJOE for me. So its still better then Transformers 2 but not by much. Transfomers 2 totally killed the brand for me.

Perhaps the second one will be like the second Hulk and they'll go in a totally new direction.

I'd probably buy the Joe set for the purpose of repainting them all. It would be like an art project.

I like the female Dialtone. I think what happened is he retired and got married and had some kids but before he left he trained up this girl to replace him and she did such a good job he let her keep the name. (thats how I explain it all in my head).

I thought it was awesome. There is no way its worse the then DIC stuff.

My only problem with it was that almost all the male voices were the same person. That and they killed Bazooka. I love Bazooka.

I like Duke better then Hawk because I grew up watching the Sunbow series and I was always confused as a kid that they brought in someone else to lead. Thus I resented Hawk. As I got older I worked out that Hawk was the over all administrator and Duke was the mission leader. (but that's my Joe-verse). I liked the Duke/Scarlet thing. I think though that they're former lovers and this mission was a way for them to make amends. I think she's still with Snake Eyes. But the love triangle works for me. It's more interesting then a cut and dry "she's with so-and-so".

I loved the Snake Eyes/Stormshadow showdown and to see their history played out on screen was great.

I think the real test of how good it was involved showing it to my friend Steve who watched Joe as a kid but doesn't collect them or follow them now. He would cheer, and laugh, and when it was over he very loudly stated "That was F-ing awesome!". Though he too was sad about Bazooka. He hated Rise of Cobra. His son liked it though which is cool. And I recently made him some DVD's of the old Sunbow series which he loves too.

Where are the superheroes? I didn't see Mego or Super Powers on there.
So in absence of them, I voted Joe
Transformers would come in next in line for me.
