Free Comic Pack Contest
« on: October 12, 2009, 04:43:04 PM »

So I have a comic 3-pack - Zarana/Zartan/CC that I really don't want as my interest fades after 1989...
I've been purging things from my house to charities, but I thought we could do something as a board too - a contest, if you will! Since food banks are in great need this season, I thought I'd post a free contest. Just donate some food to a food bank and you're in the running to get the comic pack for free. It's not a huge prize, but it is a small reward just for chipping in to the community. Do it because it's the right thing to do, get the toy to add some excitement and motivation!  I thought it could run throughout the holidays. So here's the details:
1) post in the thread every time you make a donation - mulitiple entries are okay and encouraged!
2) make the donation at least a few dollars, maybe five or more(?). Try to make it needed, non-perishable items.
3a) post a pic of you dropping off groceries or even the receipt
                       or
3b) email it to me directly (pm me for email)
4) I can't pay shipping on the comic pack so we'd have to meet up in the GTA or I could even hold it for you until the next Joecon!
5) Right after the new year I'll randomly select a winner. I'm open to suggestions but I'd probably write your names on paper and pull them out of a hat. Multiple entries get multiple papers in the hat.

Let's go Joecanuck members!!!!  :) :)
What do you think?

An excellent idea, I forgot to comment on it the first time you wrote. Anyways am I reading then that this isn't open to everyone in Canada, or would someone just have to pay for shipping.

If it helps, I just donated some canned goods and some money to a friends charity to send to Africa.
My girlfriend has us doing some food drive thing on Halloween night. (she's got the details, I do as I'm told).

Yep, sorry for the confusion. Just send me/post a photo or a receipt and ANYONE can be in. I just can't pay for shipping out of my own pocket.  Anyone out of area, not going to the next Joecon, or whatever, can pay for shipping if they win. I'll send it anywhere or do anything with it.  Let's get some entries going!!

I'm not sure if this counts, but on Friday, I'm going to a Halloween costume contest fundraiser party for the Children's Wish Foundation, with all the proceeds going to the CWF.  I can provide a photo of the ticket if you want as well as pictures from the party (well, at least on Saturday!)
