Title: Storing Your Joes

After foolishly storing my most prized Joes in a cardboard box for a year ('84 Storm Shadow is now "desert Storm Shadow") I'm moving my troops to plastic salad boxes. (romaine leaves + G.I. Joe = 1 killer combination)

Is this an okay place to keep my Joes? How about painted wooden shelves? I don't want any more desert figures.

Any advice would be appreciated. (or links to some FAQs that are helpful)

Mine are all in the figure cases that I got from BHT Mike - then from their they are stored sealed low profile rubber-made containers

I have never stored any on painted wooden shelves but have had strange reactions with other items on painted wooden shelves.  Home Depot used to sell excellent custom divided Plano containers that would fit multiple figures well but I have not seen very good versions of these lately.

I went away to Barrie for the weekend, where most of my toys are stored in cardboard boxes, and found out that many of my favorites (Action Master Jazz!!) have turned yellow.

I bought some plastic containers and shelves and transfered all my stuff. Hopefully they'll be safe for a bit longer.

Some day when I get an actual digital camera, I'll show off my own display.  It's quite similar to Mike's in a lot of respects, in that the figures are open to the air on loose display, standing on pressboard shelves I bought (and a few I made from raw materials).

I've never stored figures in boxes, it's blasphemy!  I mean, would *you* store several hundred men with guns against their will?!   :wink:

I have somewhere between 400 and 500 Joes. I don't really have a choice. ;)
