This sale is nice in theory, except as it is, the Kingston TRU can never keep the Soldier figs in stock. Part of the problem is the Zellers across the road is charging $20.99 for both Soldier and Commando class figs.

If I could get my hands on a flyer showing this sale, I could finally get Firefly, crossbow SS.
Check your newspaper, the Montreal Gazette puts flyers in it, so that's how I found out about the sale.

Sorry wasn't home all weekend to respond, but the newspapers here don't carry TRU flyers and I never had a chance this weekend to get in to see if they had any flyers in the store
I hope you can find the figures that you're looking for, as this is a good sale to take advantage of.

I was hoping to, unfortunately, I just found out that I shoulda saved some money off of a decent paycheck I had for doing some temp work, since I'm going to have to dip into my "incase****" funds to get through November (or hope I get a job soon).

This is why I am glad Hasbro is taking over the Marvel lisence. The person who does customer support for Grand in my opinion is one of the biggest *****es I have ever dealt with. When I had to replace a TNA Jeff Hardy (malformed wrist peg broke when I took him out of teh package), I had to deal with her. She did send me a replacement after throwing a hissy fit and not understanding the concept of "I cannot drive, I lack a lisence and car and the nearest TRU is an hour away so it may be 3 or 4 months before I can go there again so I have a better chance of getting hit by lightning than exchanging the product at a store"

This will be good for any Marvel product problems starting next year, unfortunately odds are Grand will still be the people we deal with for problems with TNA and any other TB product.

What I find funny though is the ToyBiz customer service should know that outside the US new ML products shouldn't be showing up, which I believe has to do with time constraints of getting product shipped and on shelves and selling before Hasbro takes over the Marvel toy lisence. Look at TRU, WalMart and Zellers. TRU has had the WalMart wave and ML 13. The last series I saw at Zellers (yesreday) was 12 (a series I cannot complete unless I want a partial blue partial black Apoc). The last time I saw WalMart carry ML (which between Belleville, Kingston and Napanee was maybe the early summer) they had ML 11.

The story from Jakks was that they wanted to include this as an acessory but it wasn't possible because of cost issues so they made it a seperate figure altogether to get it in the hands of fans they knew would like it.  Weird? Yes, but I got to tip my hat to Jakks for thinking outside the box and being loyal to the fans.  Any other toy company and The Meat would have been dropped from the assortment very quickly.

From pictures I have seen, I do wonder if jakks could have at least afforded to create a stand for the meat since it appears to have a hook.

Ontario / ENDOR AT-AT Walker at TRU
« on: September 19, 2006, 03:51:25 PM »
If I could afford it, I'd have no problems paying $90+tax for one. Problem is money is really tight for me and I have to many lines to spread my meager coinage over.

Although when I was at TRU in Kingston last week one of the employees told me they had them in, but were trying to find room on the shelves for them. The employee did offer to grab me one from the back, but after hearing they were $90 I told her "thanks but its currently out of my budget"

I just e-mailed my brother to see if he has any ideas since he did live in Peterborough for a couple years.

I will give you a warning, Peterborough drivers are nuts. They don't seem to quite understand the concept of stopping when a light turns red.

I'd like to make it to the closing sale, I could set aside $40-80 to spend, but nobody I know of is planning on going that way.

Ontario / ML Fantastic 4 Boxset at Giant Tiger
« on: July 07, 2006, 10:27:05 AM »
Hey guys, I saw the Fantasic 4 box set at Giant Tiger yesterday. They had about 7 on the shelf at the time and they did not have the variant box set (different Torch and clear Sue). Price was 19.99.

May get one if I can save up the money for it.

Congrats. Great news. I agree with akpayne, the subject for the thread is really clever.

An 'alright' look. The angle on his glasses make him look sad or confused.

I agree with you 100% and almost posted the same thing when I first saw the pic. It also makes the face look a little too cartoony.
