Post-Joe Meet...my thoughts

Special thanks to all the organizers of the event. I know it takes a LOT of time and effort to put these things together and even running the thing takes energy out to ya. I had a real great time at the meet today and I hope we can do it again next year.

I especially enjoyed having the G.I. Joe cartoons on TV. Something about having the show playing in the background really helped the atmosphere. The pepperoni was delicious. The timbits were delicious.

It was a great chance to put some faces to same names. Now I'm trying to decide whether I want to take my Joe Canuck action figure out of the package. I guess I'm never going to sell it, so I might as well open it, but it looks so damn good in the bubble. Decisions decisions...

What was the name of the guys that gave us the free pepperoni sticks.  I am craving them today.  Man, they were good.

First and foremost, a special thanks to Mike, Pete and Loop for the passion, the  planning, the organization, and the follow-thru.  I had a great time, and for me, it was kind of a new experience.

I collect toys, eighties stuff in particular...keep what I like, trade or sell what I don't.  I've never really been a Joe collector.  The toys I have from when I was a kid ARE my collection.  I don't much care for the new stuff.  I am not a customizer, and although I'm blown away by some of the work I see on the net, it's really not for me.  So I guess I'm a casual Joe fan...read the comic, watched the cartoon, and played with the toys.

Last night, I met some people who share fond memories from years ago, and a passion for keeping thiose memories alive.  I traded for a couple of figures that I wasn't able to get 20 years ago, got some weapons that helped complete a few figures, and generally had a ball.

The best part:  Noticing the respect people had for other people work and property...I mean, when was the last time you were at show, and felt you could leave all of your stuff unattended while you went for a look at another table?  Also, the kewl exclusive figure. (I hope to get one next year).

In closing, ( Sorry for rambling) a great idea, nicely executed.

Again, thanks to the guys that made it happen.

Cheers!

SPRINGERS MEATS
http://www.springersmeats.com/

I'm pretty sure they deliver..... Most anywhere in Canada I think?
They supply Fortinos and I think Commisso's with their meat.

The owners son is the person that donated them to us. (Walt).
He's in the store quite a bit.... if you KNOW you're heading down one day, LMK a day or two in advance and I'll have him drop off some stuff for ya.

I was craving them as well...... and they're still here.... at the store... I think I'll go have one. :-)

Hey, you left out the part about you not leaving my store until roughly 1:00am this morning!

Denise thanks you. :-)

Seriously Bryan, it was cool to have you there as well.
Not 'everything' went as we hoped... *ahem*..... but everyone seemed to enjoy themselves.

That was the main goal of the night.

We'll do it again... perhaps on a Sunday this time - and earlier in the day.
Not a show..... just a meet. :-)

Pepperoni sticks were part of my daily intake back in high school, besides beef jerky. I use to buy a box of them from M&M meat shop and bring them to wrestling ppv parties.

Last night was great! I gotta thank Collectorman/John for the Viper/Alley Viper two-pack, Mike for the sound attack HISS and Charles for the Ghostbuster hq! Each item was $5! I had a $5 spanking day!
It was great meeting you all! It was also great finding out about Takara's Material Force and Batman, seeing the Agent Faces in person(the figure, and I suppose the guy that looks like him :D ), and being involved in action figure playing activity.

Right after the meet, I stayed overnight at my cousin's in Ancaster, playing Smackdown HCTP with my cousin-in-law; redeeming Loop!

Ya know,
In all seriousness guys, if you reallt dug those Pepperettes (Pepperoni sticks),
try Springers Meats.
http://www.springersmeats.com

Walt Jr. Was nice enough to donate them for us, and we obviously all enjoyed them, so if you do want more - buy some! They're pretty cheap.
That entire bag (when it was full) was a $20.00 bag full.
