glutton for punishment.
I passed by my local Wal*Mart today and as I'm pulling into the parking lot, a thin white dude is looking for his car - what made him the centre of my attention was his camouflage T-shirt with a big "G.I. Joe" logo across it. Now he could be a regular joe who's into retro/vintage T-shirts, or (more likely) he's a collector like me. Anyways, his hands were empty so I wasn't keeping my hopes up.
To make a long story short, there was only 1 x Wild Bill today. Over the last 48 hrs the 2 x Ninja Ku, 2 x Torpedo and 1 x Wild Bill were sold. There's definitely more collectors in my area than I once thought.
This is what I dont get, there's obviously a market for the G.I. Joe brand - so why does a big box store like Wal*Mart only dedicate 1 or 2 pegs of shelf space for it? Meanwhile Indian Jones, Hulk, Iron Man, Jakks WWE, TMNT, and god aweful Power Rangers takes up massive retail space!!! The Hulk movie came and went and I still see the same tired old stock on the shelf - it doesn't move. Yet the 2 cases of G.I. Joe sells out in 48 hrs garaunteed.
When will the big boxes cut Hasbro some slack and give em more shelf space?
