Title: Another set on eBay...and some cards
Post by: grunt 4 mvp on July 19, 2011, 03:46:28 PM
Different sellers, I don't know either, but I recognize 'obsidian' (snow?) from around here I think.

Funny, I realize only now how much Ron's card really looks like a sports card. It could truly pass for a Hall of Fame baseball card  :D  !

There is a bunch of loose Canadian Joe Convention 2011 figures on Ebay right now. One of the sellers is displaying the figures with those mini dioramas just like I do.

At first I thought maybe someone had hacked my photobucket account where I kept all those images when I was working on this years set and updating the guys on the progress and showing different samples with different head options and colours.

This one in particular made me blink since it was so close to the prototype I did:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Canadian-GI-Joe-Convention-2011-Figure-Captain-Ruin-/360387591846?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_2&hash=item53e8c63ea6#ht_500wt_1202

Then I saw the green glasses and remembered that the prototype had a different shade of green when I modified the head.

It's really an odd feeling I get when I look on Ebay and see the loose figures being sold off. I was expecting to see box sets going but for some reason the loose figures hit me differently. I's not a bad thing really, just odd. My first thought was "Hey, Fallen Angle (Captain Ruin) was my favorite of the bunch. Why is be sold off?" but then I see at least half that set is up there and I have to remind myself that I've bought extra Master Club convention sets myself in the past and broken down the figures, so turnabout is fair play I guess. It's nothing personal.

Still, it's just a really odd feeling when something you sent so much time working on pops like that. It's not a bad thing, I just was caught off guard by it.

This set of 28 Joecanuck trading cards just ended at an interesting 52.55USD. I wonder if the 2011 Canadian GI joe convention badge had anything to do with the ending price or if the cards are this popular...

That's just odd. It wasn't even a full set.

That wasn't a true HATE tank. He had those made himself, including the stickers. Cost him a pretty penny (or pound) to get them made and he used classic ARAH bodies. Still, nice looking tanks.
