Title: Custom Contest (Better late than never!)
Post by: BHMike on April 11, 2007, 11:24:29 PM
I tried to get this posted earlier, but I've been a tad busy lately.  :shifty:

Here's the basic rules:
People are allowed to submit ONE custom figure for this contest and bring it to the meet. The figure submitted should be a newly created custom for the 'contest' only. In other words, the figure you submit should not of been seen by people before this Saturday. Ballots and a ballot box will be set up at the table so people could pick which one they think should win. The person with the highest amount of votes will win a door prize. Either a gift card to Toys R Us, or a Gift Card to Modellers Choice (they're right around the corner from the meet).

G.I. Joe customs ONLY. No Star Wars, Superheroes or any other line permitted.

You can 'sign up' in this thread here, or just bring your custom and 'sign up' at the meet.
I'll make sure to have the winner annouced at the meet by 3:00pm so anyone visiting from out of town can use their prize before they head home.

If you wish to write a bio for your figure, that is permitted. Your figure MUST be 'loose' and not packaged. We will have someone 'watching' over the Custom Contest as well - so you won't have to worry about your items going missing.

Any questions, please LMK ASAP.
Thanks

awesome, but i guess the serpentor idea i just finished is out :( he uses a punisher body. Oh well he was cool to make and the standard serpentor sucks anyways.

I have 3 more i just finished so one of them will have to do :)

Sign me up

might as well share him here now, pretty proud of him (he's my second custom, just started customizing about 2 weeks ago)
*LINK REMOVED - SEE BELOW : Mike*

Still have some things to touch, but he's 90% done.

He's allowed.

He's Serpentor.

If you make say..... a Spider-Man, and he's called Spider-Man, or a Luke Skywalker - THOSE aren't permitted.

For example:
Someone asked if they could submit the Wolverine they made out of Joe Parts.
That would be no - he's Wolverine.

But, if you made a Flint out of a Wolverine - then that's fine - Flint is a Joe.

Same can be said if you used a Batman, Superman, and Darth Vader figure into your own creation of a Cobra - that's fully allowed.

Hope that helps!
Mike

Sign me up. Mind you I've really cut back on my customs this year since my son was born and I have some that are really cool but not ready yet. I guess there is always next year for those ones.

"We" don't know they're not done. ;-)

Slap some paint on them, and enter them!
;-)

You 'are' bringing some customs however right?

I do have about 10 finished, ready to bring.  Heck, I can bring my Raven/Thrasher that is only 1/2 finished so people can see the stages of using epoxy puddy and a six inch wrestler if you want.
