It's super easy!
All you need to do is add this banner image (with a link to www.canadianjoecon.com (http://www.canadianjoecon.com)) in your signature section at ANY other GI Joe, or Action Figure sites you visit.
If the sites you visit don't allow images in their sigatures, then copy and paste this to your signature section:
7th ANNUAL CANADIAN GI JOE CONVENTION
May 2nd, 2009 : Hamilton, ONT.
www.canadianjoecon.com (http://www.canadianjoecon.com)
THE LARGEST SELECTION OF JOE ITEMS IN CANADA!
Heck, if you have the room - why not post both! LOL.
Be sure to post in here what sites you have it in your signature at. I'll check them out in a few months, and we'll find a nice prize for the one the posts, and spreads the word the most. Maybe it'll even be one of our exclusives for new year.... SHIPPED to your front door!
But, PLEASE! Do not SPAM other boards with it. We don't want you to get in trouble for promoting this. A quick PM to a fellow Canadian, or a mention in a post here and there will spread the word much more quicker than you being banned for posting it on every thread. ;-)

I have it in my sig at Tri-gate, and will get it in my sig at GTG as well as JC.
Mike I will get phalanxx to make a the pic you have as a banner and put it up on our anouncements, hope that helps.

Anyone that has a good rapport with comic or toy stores in their area, and think those shops would be willing to put some postcard flyers in them, please contact me. I have a TON to go around. ;-) Thanks!
-
Hey Mike, I just wanted to let you know, i put them cards you gave me at the Woodstock toy show, to my local comic shop, Retro Rocket, here in Cambridge. I was in their again today, he asked for a poster or something he could put in the window, and more cards for hand outs. How Would i go about getting that for him?
-
How is the Joe supply at Retro Rocket. I keep meaning to check them out. Do they have any of the vehicles Canada didn't get?
To keep this on topic, I'll hit up J&J in Waterloo if you want Mike. I'm friends with them.

When I picked up my Joe comic about a week ago they had a whole wall of G.I. Joe. I can't speak to exactly what was in there but there were plenty of singles and comic packs. There only seemed to be maybe a half dozen or so vehicles and a few Mighty Muggs.

I don't have a poster, but shoot me a PM with your mailing address and I'll mail you some more. Thanks!! Tell him thanks as well!

Yes guys, lets please keep this thread on topic. ;-)
Morg, I can mail you some as well since I won't be in that area.... any other stores in your area that you think might promote it?? They'll get a plug at CanadianJoeCon.com when I set up the page.

I could ask the guy who runs Alternative Icons in Brantford if he'd hand out some cards. He's done it before for TFCon and other events. He runs a great comic book store and at this point I think anyone who collects comics in Brantford goes there.
-
Sure! Let me know what he says!
Thanks.
-
My Sig in HISS tank now has the banner and link, and the text version on Joecustoms.
I did some bumpage on my customs to help promote the Con
-
Also did a quick plug in the sealteam6 forum.

You know we are doing what we can to help out. Just keep giving us the updates and we'll get the word out.
-
Im just curious but am I the only one getting a tonne of PMs on different boards about "getting an exclusive for me you are my new best friend", it was ok at first but so many random people have been asking it I stopped responding to them, I dont think they even bothered to read up that its one per, and theres no way Im giving mine up (if I manage to get one).
-
All you need to do is reply to them with a link to this thread and say, Sorry, I won't be able to due to these rules: http://www.joecanuck.com/joe/board/inde ... pic=3334.0 (http://www.joecanuck.com/joe/board/index.php?topic=3334.0)

I just wanted to drop you a line to let you know that we are doing our part to try and publicize for your event.
Over at The Movie Blog (http://themovieblog.com/2009/04/canadian-gijoe-convention (http://http://themovieblog.com/2009/04/canadian-gijoe-convention)) as well as our Canadian counterpart at The Stub (http://thestub.ca/2009/04/canadian-gijoe-convention/ (http://http://thestub.ca/2009/04/canadian-gijoe-convention/))
The press release is there plus a little of my own commentary.
For those who are going to be in costume, you may get your picture up on the sites! As well we will be conducting fan interviews about the upcoming movie and TV series.
Looking forward to seeing you there.

Writer Larry Hama, Collector and Authority Mark Bellomo, as well as representatives from Hasbro will be in attendance. David Willis, creator/artist of the webcomic Shortpacked! will be there too. Also, each year is punctuated by the special con exclusive Canadian G.I. Joe figures made specifically for the event and sold off for charity. This year will have a snowmobiler named Snowbank and a lumberjack named Timbit (Canadian readers will get this one)
I will be frequenting the event floor and getting interviews with the faithful about their thoughts on the new animated series and the upcoming feature film. I will also be snagging photos of cool costumes or anything else that catches my eye and sharing them here.
Just thought you should know you're mixing up some of last year's info (Larry Hama, Snowbank, Timbit) and this year's info (Willis, the chrome HATE HISS). The plug is appreciated, but I thought you'd like the details set straight.
