Manitoba & Saskatchewan / Part of the next wave found in Winnipeg.
« on: September 26, 2008, 11:31:04 PM »
Hey all,  I found Bazooka, Torpedo and Snow Serpents (picked up three but still left at least 5) at Wal-Mart St. Vital. A couple of Hiss Tanks and the the Armadillo & Air chariot vehicles packs and a resupply of the previus wave. Wal-mart Regent didn't have any of the new wave just a resupply of the previous wave. TRU Regent had the same old resupply and with the last two comic packs waves .
Surprisingly between those three places I've counted at least 15 Hiss tanks over the past week that remain on the shelves. I actually expected these to snatched up but they seem to staying around, might have to go buy a third.

Not sure if anyone cares but I was just checking out the SEARS Christmas Wish Book 2008, which arrived today (why on earth am I getting this in AUGUST!!!). Check out page 844-845. No Joes but perhaps some useful CORPS or POWER TEAM ELITE stuff that may be of interest for anyone into dioramas etc.

General Joe Talk / Why oh why!
« on: August 21, 2008, 08:53:51 PM »
AARRGH!, *sigh* Popped open my new Tripwire from the comic pack and they still have that hard plastic hosing connecting his sweeper to his pack.  Couldn't they instead use a softer rubber hose completely seperate from his sweeper. I find he has a hard time holding the sweeper because of the tension running from the hose being bent awkardly, and if try and fiddle around with it, the hose pops out of his backpack. It only seems to look good both ways when his arm is almost straight out.
I've always had this problem and it annoys me. Otherwise I really like it.

Also Cobra Commander's sword's hilt and pommel is pretty sweet.

Manitoba & Saskatchewan / next wave of comic packs are here
« on: August 20, 2008, 06:21:44 PM »
TRU Regent has gotten some of the new comic 2 packs. Picked up Falcon & Nemesis Immortal, Cobra Commander & Tripwire, Destro & Iron Grenadier. Also had a few older comic packs as well. Happy hunting.

edit: just changed the name Nemesis Enforcer to Nemesis Immortal as on the pack. Anyone know if this was a copyright thing or something else that caused the name change?

General Joe Talk / Vehicle packaging
« on: July 30, 2008, 06:58:55 PM »
Just popped open my new Vamp and see they now have vehicle file cards. Is this something new or have they had this before? Anyways I like the idea. Also I love the little advertising poster/brochure, reminds me of when I first started playing with Joes looking over all the stuff I didn't have and which ones I really wanted. Very nostalgic.

Manitoba & Saskatchewan / Wave 1 Vehicles are here
« on: July 30, 2008, 06:15:44 PM »
TRU Regent has the vehicles in stock as of 5:00 pm.  I even left the other HISS which I really was tempted to buy.  All sets were $21.99.

One of the stock guys told me they're moving fast as he's had to already restock them since this morning. Happy hunting.

Manitoba & Saskatchewan / Funny moment
« on: July 12, 2008, 04:42:14 PM »
Couldn't help but smile when I was in Walmart on Regent with my daughter, looking to see if they hopefully  restocked any Joes when someone left a note on the empty pegs, which
read : "Please order, people buy me."
Nice touch.

Manitoba & Saskatchewan / Next wave of comic two packs are here.
« on: June 28, 2008, 02:00:50 PM »
TRU on Regent Ave was the new comic packs. Picked up Copperhead & Shipwreck, Duke & Red Star,  Firefly & Storm Shadow. Also had a few of the last wave comic packs. They are  in the middle of renovating this store and I see no more tags for individual figs anywhere. I hope that doesn't mean they're not going to stock them

General Joe Talk / Viper
« on: May 17, 2008, 01:41:10 PM »
hmmm just got the new vipers (well 3 of them anyway) and I gotta say it looks pretty sweet.
However i really dislike the goggles. they come off way to easy for my liking. Any touch on the head the the thing comes off! Tempted to glue them on or leave them off permanently.

Manitoba & Saskatchewan / more 25th found at Galaxy Comics
« on: April 26, 2008, 05:52:52 PM »
Went to Galaxy Comics on Henderson Highway, they had a bunch of figures. Beachhead, Duke, Scarlett, Cobra Commander, Air Troopers, some 5 packs and comic packs as well.
Of note they had about 8 CG's. Prices varied, but the CG's were the same as you buy at TRU.
I left them all. I was only in there for a short time and only quickly skimmed the figures as I only had a few dollars to spend.

Checked back there on Mar 17,  found a couple of Vipers. One on American and two on Canadian card. The also had Snake Eyes that looked like the remake of ver. 3 (from '89). So I'm hoping the regular stores will be getting the new stuff soon.
