Suggestions / how about a sightings post?

If you build it, they will come....................

In other words, some times you need some honey to attract the flies.  Hal's idea is great for here as posting Canadian finds on other message boards gets drowned out quickly or lost in the shuffle.

Well I though I cleaned out all the Big Ben/White Out packs at my local TRU for the Canadian Joe meet.  Instead I go there today (to find a Transformer Armada for an American friend) and I spot over 30 of these dusting attracting packs.  Come on.

BAT- As Pete said, we've seen too many BATs in the past years. Its predecessors are more appealing than this Ultron-wanna-be. The only way I can see the BATs improving is if they added lights and/or sound.

I like the idea Morgardee had as well...exploding Bats.  You hit there chest piece and ka boom the Bat is in pieces.  Add Loop's idea and then you have something kids may like.

Well, I saw it at my local TRU for 99.99 CAN.  I passed on it as that too much for a Transformer.

Toys are for kids eh?  Please, don't give me that crap Hasbro.  No kid will have 100 bucks in their piggy banks.

I like them...they are looking beefyer...darn factory workers eh?...stealing on the job or what?

What do you think.  The figures just don't walk out of the factory on there own. Either a worker has got some freebies or they are stolen off the line.

If Hasbro did have a problem with this seller, he/she would have been kicked off ebay by now for having stolen goods (one would think).

Customs / I want to make a custom of my Avatarr...
« on: February 10, 2004, 10:38:17 AM »
Where's Raptor?  He might know a thing or two about customs.  I am useless unless it's a can of spray paint.

Also the guys on joecustoms have this guide for customs (it may help)

And before you say anything along the lines of 'They're just saying that because they know you'... well I don't 'make' people do what I want... hell if I could do that then I'd be filthy rich and have a complete set of Joe figures (variants included!)

Mike

You forgot the foreign figures me and Ed have :D  On a serious note, I swear on the bible (I am Orthodox), that I am not getting any freebies or kick backs from this.  I just don't like to see somebody's name get run through the mud for no reason unless warranted.  Something must have got mis translated or mis interpreted during the heat of the moment.

My take

Jinx: Not a bad looking figure (but what is with the arms)

Cobra Bat: One word - insecticon. Does nothing for me.  Too mant bats released in 2 years.

Cobra Slash: should be called Cobra Trash. Unless it's Beach Head

Electric Eel: This looks freaking cool. Kid's will love it

Snow Cat/Serpent: I like the use of the traditional colours of the V1.  Since I never army built wit the first one (like it was ever in Canada to begin with), I hope they are made available here.  The only draw back is the tiny torso.

Tunnel Rat: Ok figure but doesn't stick out.

Dusty: Same as tunnel rat. Probably the worst of the bunch.

Unknown action attack cobra ninja: WTF is with Hasbro and ninjas.

Stalker: Looks very nice.

Zartan: Is he playing on a minor league hockey team? Just needs a hockey stick and a pair skates and the figure would rock. At least he is not a repaint.

Overall, not bad but it looks like the tiny torso and long leg problem (that has bugged me) is starting to be altered in the right direction.

Pete,

Thanks for making the offer to give up your figure... You are a really cool guy!

But DON'T GIVE IT UP!  The figure is yours and you definitely deserve to have it!!

My offer stands to end this mess.

The threat of a violent act (i.e bodily harm) to somebody else was not confirmed from a person who was inside the room when it happened. He knows better not to lie to Mike and I trust him.  I will not mention who he is as he doesn't want to be apart of this mess. We talked on MSN last night about it.

And Mike, if you are taking into account all expenses, then this convention was in the red.  It cost me 20 bucks in gas alone to get the 20 figures (not including the drive to Hamilton for the drop off, which is another 20 bucks).  If everything was done by the books, this was a money losing venture.  Why did I do this (i.e. get involved), find out below.

I just honestly think this is it for me. I'm most likely not doing another one of these things.... and highly doubt my original reasons for being involved in this hobby in the first place will ever really come back as they did Saturday night. Kinda pathetic huh?

What? Figure or convention meet, or both?   I was afraid of the ramafications of this.  The reason why I got involved in the planning was to met other collectors and shoot the sh*t with them. That was the only reason for wanting to be there.  If is heck a whole lot of fun to talk to GI JOE with somebody that actually knows the characters and product in person.
