My PVR got a hit for a continuous stream of GI Joe on Teletoon Retro for August 1st. Looks like it is either to promote the movie and/or DVD.

Managed to get the Firebat set at Happy Harbor in Edmonton for about $31 which is not bad considering exchange rate lately and shipping. They also had the Sharc, Vamp and Ram vehicle sets.

Well the hometown Wal-mart got 2 cases of the TF Flint Wave on Canadian cards. Not my favourite wave. The Edmonton TRU are still flush with the DVD packs. It looks like only the Wal-mart Supercentres are getting vehicle packs from what I found in my travels.

Hit a couple of Wal-marts on the way home from vacation with no luck and then my wife finds a few at the home base Wal-mart. Finally got a Wild Bill, a General Hawk and Bazooka. The only other one was a BAT which I never was a big fan of and the Serpentor which has been peg warming for a few months now. It is lean out there definitely more demand than supply which seems to be the new retail model. Get it now or never find it again.

Looks like the SDCC exclusive is the launch of GI Joe's version of the Galactic Heroes. The Joe version is called Combat Heroes.

Managed to get a couple of shirts for my boys at Fields. One had Snake Eyes and the other had a team picture. This is the first I have seen of anything like this.

General Joe Talk / Comic Licence

I have been looking anywhere for news on who is getting the comic licence. All I know for sure is that DDP is wrapping up their run. I get the distinct feeling that we may see a hiatus until the movie comes out as a launching point for a number of Joe related media (comic, games, etc.). Maybe Hasbro is trying to re-link Hama to the project. Hopefully the Meet attendees can ask what he knows.

Alberta / Wave 6 US cards

As of last week Wave 6 has popped up in at least 2 wal-marts. Finally nice art work available close to home! I found this wave MUCH easier to find than Wave 5. Tried to fill my collection voids while in Red Deer, but was only able to find 1 figure.

Alberta / 25th Anniversary Stock

Finally tracked down some comic packs at Zellers in Edmonton. There were pegs for single packs but all were empty. I have only successfully found 2 figures at a Wal-mart. There is someone out there buying them. I hope at least some are getting directly into the hands of collectors or kids, but have a sneaking suspicion that a lot are ending up at the premium priced collector stores.

Off Topic / Antivirus recommendations

I am looking to install an antivirus program. Preferably a free one. There seems to be some pretty computer savvy people on this site. Any recommendations? I appreciate any help.
