Off Topic / Garage Sales
« on: July 10, 2006, 10:50:58 PM »
Has anybody had much luck finding 80's joes at garage sales?  After at least 5 years of semi-regular "saling" my wife and son found 5 1987-1989 Joe vehicles.  The more shocking thing was most were complete (though I had to go back and look at his grab bags to find some accessories).

And of all places it happened in our humble little town here.

Well not really, but it felt like it sometimes.  I just came back from working a forest fire and I realized how many interesting aircraft we get here.  I got to see a Kamov dual rotor helicopter working on one of our fires.  It is always more fun to sit in a helicopter when watching other helicopters.

Our local aircraft company also has a MI-26 helicopter leased for a year.  It is capable of carrying 80-100 passengers when so configured.  Mostly they are using it to move drilling rigs.

Thanks.

Off Topic / The Shield

Anyone else a fan of The Shield.  I must say I enjoyed seeing the start to Season 5 pretty much the same time as the US run for a change.  Excellent show with excellent actors.

Alberta / Thunderwing at Winners
« on: November 16, 2005, 08:55:46 PM »
Thanks to the Ontario guys I followed up on checking for a Thunderwing at Winners.  I found 2 at the north Edmonton Winners.  Bought one for the kids.  The other one was missing the missile attachments on the top.  I figure the other locations might still have some.

General Joe Talk / GI Joe cards 1986
« on: October 18, 2005, 07:55:34 PM »
Does anyone collect the 1986 GI Joe cards?  In my travels the '86 cards seem a rarity and I am curious how many people out there collect these.  Myself I only have a few packs worth, nowhere near the full set.

Alberta / A reprieve from the drought.

Just when I thought the ride was over.  I found Wave 6 and the adventure packs at Toys 'r Us.  Finally a Sgt. Bazooka to call my own.

Alberta / GI Joe takes the cake - literally
« on: March 09, 2005, 10:49:44 PM »
I always thought this might come out.  Finally my very own GI Joe cake topper.  It is a mini-boxing toy.  It doesn't work the best.  It is Duke vs. Cobra Commander in a V vs. V wave 1 look.

We must be in a serious Joe drought when this is the only thing worth mentioning.

I am hoping the toy show in Edmonton will help end my drought.

Has anyone heard any info on the expansion for the TCG?

Last I heard was January, but news has been slim of late.
