As you can tell, there's a new layout for the board. Nothing about the board has changed, except new features for it.
New features:
You Tube Embedded: You can now post a youtube video directly in your post by using the You TUbe icon above when posting or replying.
Site access: If you look above, you'll see links that take you to the main JoeCanuck site, and other locations like the CanJoeCon site, or newsletter section.
Social Bookmarks : you can now post threads directly into twitter, facebook, myspace, digg and many others by using the icons in the top-right corner.
Facebook / Twiiter, etc : You can now include links to your accounts in your profile.
Age & Location: If you entered in a birthday and location in your profile, those will now show up in the left side of your posts. <----Over there.
Signature Default : If you don't enter anything in your signature space, you'll be pimping
www.CanadianJoeCon.com now by default.
Timbits: Give or take a Timbit from other board members. When you "take" a Timbit, you don't get it added to yours, but you ensure another member doesn't get it either.
Unique Avatar : If you use a board avatar, you will be the only one to use it. No one else can claim that Avatar until you give it up.
Twitter Updates: New posts in the General, Message Board, Newsletters, and Sightings section will automatically be updated at the Canadian Joe Con Twitter account. (Go here to see:
www.twitter.com/canadianjoecon ). Mind you, some posts on twitter will be removed if they're spam, etc. The mod will also update the Facebook account - but I'm not confortable giving them my login info for that one.
There will be a few more Mods to the board over time. I'll post them in here as it happens.
