Customs / The big guy: Backstop!
« on: November 12, 2015, 09:36:46 AM »
So Backstop's original filecard painted a different picture than what the figure proper did.
The figure was of average build, with a calm expression and a clean parted hairstyle.
The filecard, on the other hand, gave us a youth so mean and rough his parents had to move from Canada to the States because of how violently he played hockey. Who later got banned from boxing probably for the same reasons. Who went undefeated in amateur wrestling because others chickened out of even stepping on the mat with him.
I wanted my custom to reflect his filecard a bit better. So I went with some parts that made him look big and mean.

Head: MU Punisher
Body: ROC Heavy Duty
Helmet: Star Wars Cinema Scenes pilot guy
Knife and sheath: Raginspoon cast

At Scramble's suggestion I went with the CanJoeCon Backstop color scheme instead of the 1987 figure.

Merci.

So why are you seeking out your fellow Montreal customizers, if you don't mind my asking?

From what I hear it's Retaliation Wave 1 stock.

Well, I just made a pre-order for the wave at Legends Action Figures. They offer a discount of the tax for members of snowtroopers.ca, so my total with shipping comes to $129. Better than regular retail. At that price, I had to jump at it, even if there are a couple I don't care for. There are a few must haves and a few that don't represent my vision of classic characters, but are just solid figures with some great accessories, so this wave is worthwhile. And I won't have to try and track down the ones I REALLY want. :) Yay Kwinn! Kwinn for the winn! Yippee!
Wonder if I can preorder and pick up in-person at the store...

Any sign of wave 2.5 yet? (that is, Colton, Lady Jaye, Dark Ninja, etc)

Saw a lone one at the Angrignon TRU. Snagged it right away.

Anyone find the Ninja Combat Cruiser in Montreal yet?

TRU Lasalle has the 3-packs, but good luck finding a Cobra one where Firefly doesn't have derpy eyes....

No sign of the Combat Cruiser, though, sadly. :(

For figures, singles are still limited to wave 1. However, TRU is starting to put out the wave 2 three-packs as well as the Combat Cruiser.
WHAT.
Which TRU? Which??
