General Joe Talk / Re: Thoughts on Classified and Retro lines?
« on: September 09, 2024, 07:29:42 AM »
Here is nearly final update on the Rattler Haslab.   I have been tracking it daily on actionfigurenews.ca if you want to see how it went.

Cobra Rattler:

21,556 / 9,000  (+1,862)  239.51% of funding goal with 17h left.

Okay time to get on it you last minute fence sitters.   Crunch time is here and it is now or never!!!  hahaha

Nice finish coming up today.   I think we might fall short of 25,000 backers because the last hours are probably going to result in somewhere between 2,000 - 2,500 backers (my guesstimate).   Still a strong finish when only a couple days ago we were still waiting for Baroness to unlock.

Real question from someone who doesn't collect classified, was there really any doubt on this? What makes or breaks a joe haslab?

Rattler is awesome but wings are a bit to short. I get it but yeah looks a little off. Should have included a hanging harness as a tier.
Interesting in the comments about the patches whether there is a hint to a next vehicle being a tank or whether that's just reference to just one of the purposes of the A-10.
I'm probably reading into it too much.

The figures look good for the most part. Except for the expressive face of Road Pig. He looks like Wreck it Ralph.
Hasbro needs to stop with the animals already.

Otherwise everything looks real nice.

The transformers / joe crossover really irk me because i want the figures but don't care at at all for the transformers themselves. haha.

yup, this is why I stay with just old joes and the forums, and select videos from Youtube. Keeps the drama away.
I miss you FormBX257 and HCC788!

Wow. Sorry for coming back to this but i hadn't seen this before today and just felt like i needed to say something.
Dave was actually the one who pointed me towards Joe Canuck website back when Yojoe-the pit yahoo mailing group was still going on. I think his handle was Chef Morgardee if i recall.
I never met the man but i enjoyed his content here, he seemed like a pretty funny guy in his posts and i know he loved his son and wife deeply.  Was sad when he dropped off the forum and now I'm sad for his family. That must be incredibly tough for them.

I guess you never know when your time has come and i think i often never say the things I should have said a long time ago. Thanks Dave! Rest in peace.

Peace to all you guys who are still here. Thanks for keeping this place alive.

That Retro Beachhead looks awesome. He's always been my favourite joe design.

I like what I see but I don't collect transformers.
But tell me more about the thundermachine front grill...

1. Sorry to hear about your loss Sundance. I can't imagine the emotional journey that has been for you and your family.

2. and not nearly as important, I think classified should really start to branch out into the smaller playsets as well as vehicles. We could use a good bivouac or cobra bunker.

3. Question on the vamp: did they properly allow for a figure sitting in the vamp to see clearly or does it suffer the same issue the original vamp had?

Super7 will.do o-ring

That's exciting!
A couple points
- My one condition is It better have all the articulation. If it just o-ring but the legs and arms don't bend I would be disappointed. Maybe they mentioned that in the video and i just missed it. Its always loud in my house.
- Price is still high but better then $50 that most vintage 3 3/4 are going for nowadays and hopefully i can actually play with these things.
- I think I will be very select as the wife keeps "suggesting" I clear out my old stuff because she needs more storage space.
- If its sunbow style though I'll pass. While I enjoyed the cartoon as a kid, once I read the comics there was no going back. Never watched the DIC series but it looks even worse.
- would love to see troop builder sets and diorama sets.

I love it. Very funny.
