Pete, do you know if the Wolf was available in the US as a mail-away post 1990? I wonder if it's much like the HISS Tank in that the mail-away versions in the US are found with an Estrela stamp due to the molds being shifted back to the US from Brazil.

I am working a deal to get the mail-in version.  Once I get it, I can at least do a comparison of the three stampings (Estrela, Hasbro mail in and the domestic one, even though it's the one I had a kid and hence a Canadian version).

Thanks to Jon, I have the bug to get vehicles again.  Well, at least the ones I like.

I feel like a fly on the wall following the ins and outs of high end collector dealing. Continue.

The Mail-in wolf came out around 1991 and ran through about 1993... I'll check the stamp(s) in a bit to see for sure, but I believe, off the top of my head, it's just a Hasbro stamp. The Wolves are all buried at the bottom of the tub, so I have to drag them out.

Edit: Ok, I thought I'd checked that out when I posted the Mail-In Wolf page. It's the same as the 1987 Wolf, stamps and all except for the gray parts.

Always glad to convert another one. :)

Was the Mail in Vamp II with the different body more readily available in Canada? I'm thinking it was due to how many seem to come from the "great white north". I can't recall seeing a lot for sale outside of Canada. I had to get mine from a seller in CA and I was told that they were common or at least plentiful up there. I know it also came out of Brazil but I don't know how common it is from there.

From what I noted, the mail-in VAMP II was more common to find than the M.S.V. or Consumers Distribting Black Mobat (still have to find one of those but it's been on my "meh" list for a long time).  Mike must have seen a few of the mail ways in his days (Pretty sure that is where I got mine).

Funny, I found the opposite.

Out of the 3, I found the black MOBAT to be easiest to aquire, followed be the MSV (I've seen 3) followed by the mail in vamp mk II  (I've seen 1, and own it)

Thinking back, I think you are right based on the inventory Mike has had in the past.  He always seemed to have a Black Mobat.

I  agree  to  this also. I've  seen or  had  9 Black Mobats.   2 Msv, both of which I've bought... and 1 Mail in Vamp... which Hal has.
