NDK's old customs
« on: May 24, 2010, 10:08:14 PM »

Here are a bunch of my old customs from oldest to newest.  Its kind of interesting seeing how I progressed with customizing (or not progress at all).  Also keep in mind that many of the early ones, there was very few figure parts to chose from, as 25th was only a few waves old.  Warning lots of pics, may take a while to load.

My very first one, I used clay rather then appoxy lol.  First of several of my "Alley Viper Razors" team.  Note that I added cobra red emblems to their visors, but these are old pics before I did it.

This is Street Sweeper, Machine gunner.

This was my second, very simple custom, just made a custom helm using serpentors helm and a green stuff visor, and paint job on an old AV sheild.

This is Blitz, the team leader.

The Razors demolition expert "Mouse-Holer", named after the Canadian WW2 tactic used in Ortona.

Their Sniper, "The Painter", b/c sniping is an art, that and heads go splat like paint when hes around.

A female Chinese AV, assault specialist, "Diao-Chan" named after a Chinese folk tale beauty in the Historical Epic Romance of the 3 Kingdoms.

This is probably some of my best work, it even got front paged on Hisstank.com when I first did them.
http://www.hisstank.com/gi-joe-news/cus ... ctre-7367/

The Night Viper Elites, the "Spectres", with glow in the dark optics, and one fully painted in glow in the dark paint.

The first is "Terror-Night"

(actual pic of the GID optics in the dark)

Female Spectre, "Demon-Night", after the red color scheme.

"Death-Knight"

3 together.  Also since these were taken, I added red cobra emblems to their chests.

Full GID painted member, my idea was that The Spectres would see their teammates glow through their optics to avoid friendly fire, as it turns out a year or 2 later Halo:ODST had the same idea with their VISR  :shifty:

I did more Razors after my night vipers because this is when the FF comic pack just came out and his dark urban camo was the bomb.

I did a series of 3 mini dios using old vehicle boxes.  I really like these, and will make more once I get my printer working again and find some dio parts.

My jungle team dio, custom painted figures as well as custom Televiper and Range Viper (range viper was more then a year away when I made this).  I have since added in jungle images for the wall paper on the insides of the box, and it looks fantastic.

Your work is superior, there's no doubt about that. I like how you kept updating your characters as new parts became available, It really shows that you know your limits and how to surpass them each time.
