questions for expand the universe entrants
« on: June 25, 2011, 10:15:51 AM »

specifically, those members who entered Icecap, Prairie Dog and Downhill.

1. would you mind if i use your characters in my new fan-fic i'm writing entitled 'War of the Red Shadows'?

2. Would you mind if they end up dying?

3. what was the primary military speciality of your character?

i should point out, i'm not killing them off for sure. they might die. they might not.

and i'm also featuing my character Aurora and she's not going to make it through in one piece.

Snowbank, Valkyrie, Take Down, Shiver and the Canuckleheads are also appearing and Black Ice has a small cameo role.

Prairie Dog - OK I guess.  I'll have to look up the speciality.

He's a Canadian Ranger.  Pimary EOD and secondary recon.  Modelled in part after my brother who's a Major.

okay, since neither of the other two creators got back to me, i won't use them.

is there anyone with a custom Canadian Joe character who'd like to see them included in my fan-fic, bearing in mind that they may not make it through the story alive?

if so, PM me with a name/PMS/SMS and a general appearance description.

really want characters who are heavy weapons, infantry, commandos, paras etc. not so much with snipers...

You can use my AVSTs (Avalanche Viper Shock Troopers) if you want.  They are pretty much Cobra North Troop fodder anyways, so there's' no problem killing them off by the hundreds or even having them do some killing since they are elite troopers.  ;)

I've got a buncha characters kicking around that can be re-purposed into Canadian Joes ( or COBRAs)

Lord T'underin': a Newfoundlander who was supposed to be a partner of I.C.E. Queen ( and would have been part of my submission last year if I had more time) He's a bad guy that uses sonic weapons for mass destruction and was something of an on-off mentor to the I.C.E. Queen. The visual cues I had for him were that he was going to be big, burly and have a handle-bar moustache and thick Newfie accent.

He'd have some minions called T-Storms, basic shock troopers using sonic rifles with a penchance for striking during stormy weather.

Sun Dog, a Joe laser specialist, who likes the cold.  An expert with prisms and light amplification. He also wears shades all the time, because his eyes are unusually sensitive to light. Normally that would exclude him from service on a team like the Joes, but with the shades he can do anything the other Joes can, so its not really much of a detriment.

Deadhead Grew up in Molly's Reach BC, swears he knew a guy named Relic.....and worked for a while on the log booms. He became a salvage diver, learning to actually dive into the water to clear stuck log booms, then joined the Canadian navy. From there he was invited to the Joes. Part of his codename comes from the fact that he can fall asleep anywhere, under any circumstances--even under an artillery barrage. Its like he's dead to the world...

Hard-point Joe air-maintenance guy. He's like Tollbooth in a way, some how the guy finds action. He's responsible to mounting munitions and ammo in GIJOE aircraft. He was also the captain of his university debating team and LOVES to debate ( some call it argue). He doesn't question orders, but raise a philosophical point and he'll run you into the ground over it.

Plow-wind Grew up on the farm in Manitoba, drove a lot of farm equipment, and talked a lot. In fact, he wouldn't shut up so his family encouraged him to join the military, where he learned to drive tanks. And you can yap all you want inside a tank because no-one can hear you in there. Well, he wound up on the Joes, got to drive Joe armour.........and learned to shut up and pay attention when COBRA is around. Needless to say, his crew mates prefer to be in action A LOT!

Bee-line hates her code-name. Hates it. She was always getting dubbed the "Queen Bee" or "Busy bee", until she socked one hapless teaser on the chin ( he deserved it) and then went straight to General Hawk. Not to complain, but to get a posting as a Joe tracker. And she's good, real good. Point her in the general direction of the hidden bad guys and she'll get you right up to them. Just don't tease her about it, though.

I mentioned Underbrush in another thread and he's usable too. Go nuts with them if you like.

cool, thanks Arrow. i won't be using Cobra North, because this story's about the Red Shadows coming back and causing mayhem, death and destruction.

i think i'll be using Sun Dog, Deadhead and Plow-wind. i dunno if i'll use Bee-line, since there's already 4 women in the Canadian Joes with my character Aurora, Deke, Powder-Keg and Valkyrie...

they may not get big scenes, but they'll at least get name-checked...
