25th Anniversary 5 Packs at Toys R Us
« on: September 19, 2007, 05:49:38 PM »

It's true, they're here. I just picked up the Cobra 5-pack at the St Catharines TRU.

I would have grabbed both, but another collector beat me by about 2 minutes. I talked to him briefly. Nice guy.

Looks like 1 case will have 2 sets of each in it, which means the other Joe pack was purchased earlier.

I've heard the TRU at Sherway in the GTA has them as well, so it looks like they're around.

The bad news? The price. $39.99  :-[

So much for our dollar being close to par with the US.

I'll pick up the other set at the con for less money - but it was cool to buy new Joe stuff off the shelf again in Canada.

$29.99 at TRU, $24.99 at Walmart and somewhere in between at Target, if I recall.

You know how every time new product comes out in the States, everyone in Canada asks the same question: "When do we get it?"

Well whenever we do get something, everyone in Quebec asks the same thing: "Bilingual packaging?"

I picked up a Cobra set minutes ago at the Whitby TRU. There were 2 there.   No Joe sets but I am checking the TRUs on the east side of Toronto after a job tommorrow.

Man, that diaper look.  It's even more horrible when you see it on CC.

Nice to see that Canadian retailers have adjusted their prices in accordance to the high Canadian dollar  ::)  WTF.  Almost 45 bucks with taxes for one set alone.  But I suppose it's better than trying to find these sets in the States.  All the online stores haven't got their orders and they are not found in abundance down there.  So I will eat the 45 bucks in support of keeping my money in Canada for once when it comes to buying Joes.  Plus I can be an anti-Trekker and inspect the boxes before I buy a set (I don't want a dinged up box).

Man, I suspect you guys in Quebec are going to be screwed on this.  No french on the package or filecards.

So Ed, how much was that bet that they wounldn't show in Canada?   :shifty:

I hate to admit it but right now I can't waiting to see if these show up at Walmart. I'm hoping for a more reasonable price.

I'm with you brother. It's not often I got to the states because I want the joes to be cheaper...

I rather pay TRU prices to avoid the Wal-Mart sea of stupidity.

I about to grab both packs when I saw the price. My Joes have been packed away in boxes for quite some time and I fear these figures would have the same fate. $80 is too much for figures I won't even display.
