Off Topic / Giant Tiger - McFarlane Hockey figures

Hmmm, I might actually have to check the local Giant Tiger then just for the leafs fig. Usually the only stuff they have are Barbie, 3D puzzles and model car kits.

General Joe Talk / AFA loose figures
« on: August 01, 2005, 09:16:30 PM »
I agree that this is messed up and a money grab.

One question I have to ask is why did the AFA even bother with a loose figure in the first place?

I also wonder how much more rediculous will this get. Will we see someone try to auction off an AFA graded Hooded Cobra Commander head? How about AFA graded air.

This part of the release is not making sense to me:

Accordingly, addresses to recipients in Canada should be printed in ink or typewritten in capital letters, and the last line of the address must show only the country name, written in full, and in capital letters. When a Canadian postal delivery zone number is included in the address, mailing requirements allow that number to appear as the last line of the address.

Does this mean when people in the US send us something the mailing address looks like this:

Quote
Person's Name
Street Address/Apt or house #
City/Province
Postal Code
Country

or

The whole capital letter bit makes sense, but considering I have never seen a Canadian mailing address that didn't have a postal code, I don't understand the postal delivery zone bit (which would be the postal code)

Your right, it doesn't make sence.  Postal code after the address?

Mat, my theory on mail being slow in summer.....Newman and the rest of his postal pals take more days of for holidays in the summer.  I assume Canada Post sits on the mail until close to the end of the week.  i have been noticing packages arriving mostly on Monday or Friday for me.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that thinks it makes no sense. I've been thinking about it and still can't figure it out.

As for you slow summer mail delivery theory, I believe you are probably correct. My brother used to work for Canada Post and most employees do take their holidays during the summer. We live in a small town and during the time he worked for them he had to fill in at Canada Post offices in 3 other nearby towns/villages for employees on vacation.

 and I thought that the whole I'm a ninja so I'm bulletproof, fireproof, laser proof, knifeproof, anythingproof and only another ninja can kill me issue was a big deal when I was a kid.  Seems like pegholes are the real important matter. I knew I should've been pegholeproof as well...dang!

That was a good one.

Sorry aboot bein an a-hole Pete.

I just noticed something that does worry me a bit. Looking at the pic of the new HISS, I noticed Night Creeper is using a stand from a SW ROTS fig. I'm praying this means they increased the peg hole size on ROTS figs and I didn't notice or just glued his feet to the stand. If the new figs have the smaller SW size pegholes then none of my spare stands will be useful.

Those stands don't come with the Joes.  They were for display purposes.

Congratulations dumbass for not grasping what I was trying to say.

Maybe you should get your special ed teacher to help you understand what the (I should eat a bar of soap) I was trying to say. I was pointing out that I was hoping they glued his fucking feet to the stand becuase I would be royally fucking pissed off if they changed the new Joes over to the smaller peg holes the current SW figs use. I didn't realise it took an IQ higher than room temperature to understand that.

Yes, I am a huge Star Wars collector  .  Like I know about the peg sizes and like I really give a crap.

Oh ya, who the heck are you?  Considered yourself already warned for a personal attack on a board member, mod or not.  I let a lot of things slide but not this.  I won't edit or delete your comments just yet.  I want the board members to see how somebody with 5 posts contributes. Piece of advice, if you don't have the balls to say to a person's face (especially me), don't post it.

If you know nothing about the SW peg sizes, why did you bother quoting me with some bs answer? I never at any point asked if the stands came with the figures, only wanted to know about a potential size change in the peg holes.

Yes consider myself warned. Now about you questioning whether I'd have the balls to say that to your face. I would, but unfortunately I don't drive and Oshawa is a really long walk. Plus I don't think I'd be successful looking up "Pete The Greek" in the phone book to actually find your house.
Now I hope you understand how funny it is for you to talk about me not having balls, when I get a PM from Scramble instead of you asking me not to be so "defensive and vulgar".

Hey, just found out about this site thanks to BHT posting the url over at wfigs.

I collect GI Joe, Jakks WWE figs (RA and CS), Transformers (G1, Alternators, Energon, Universe), Lego, and a whole lot more that I can't think of at the moment.

I've been avoiding the Joe communities ever since my falling out with the GI Joe Zone (which thankfully tanked afterwards). For any of the ex-Zone members, I was Heavy Duty there. Nice to be back in the loop on stuff, especially with a community that is geared towards us Canucks.
