Customs / Introducing... Serpentor's HATE Chariot!
« on: July 21, 2009, 01:22:22 AM »
I took Mike's statement that he couldn't figure out how to make the air chariot not suck for the convention box set to heart and I grabbed one of the free extra chariots from the door. I decided to make this one gold like what the original should have looked like since HASBRO decided not to give us the metallic flaked plastic from the originals. Same with Bluestreak the Transformer G1 remake, he has metal paint on the metal and then the plastic parts were just gray. Is this type of plastic not available anymore, or what? I am working on a Silver one next! Hey do you guys still have any of those extra air chariots left? I need more! I guess I could use some Cobra stickers too. And I need to touch up the grill. I fixed the rear engine intake where the original was recessed and in the 25th version the vent is specially remade to fit on the outside of the rim thereby looking stupid and making less room for ol' Serpy's foot.:cobra:

Why would we ask Hasbro about the DVD box set? If that question did get asked, they would just say they don't have dealings with that. I think that question should be removed.  :cobra:
totally agree, useless question, just like the how many figure waves ones. They won't know what they're going to do until the movie comes out and they see if the figures sell. If they had release dates/sequel news for Resolute they won't wait for the Q&A to remember to tell us about it, that's what press releases are for.

"If you don't like a question just don't vote for it"
Don't worry, I won't. But it looks like all the lame questions are winning. It's funny how mostly everyone slammed the movie stuff a couple of weeks ago and now everyone is buying it and asking for more.

I'm hoping these show up at Walmart. That way I won't have to pay shipping.
Shipping on stuff from Amazon.ca that costs more than forty bucks (like these boxed sets) is free. Usually their prices are better than Amazon, especially on pre-order stuff. They usually get the big ticket releases that the US site gets, the listings just show up later.

In an interview the guy who is doing the sets said they are starting by offering them on their website and that they will have them in stores later in time for X-mas. He specifically mentioned Amazon as well, although he may have been referring to only .com and not .ca Amazon. He also mentioned Canada was getting it. With the movie on the horizon you can bet they are giving this set a full retail roll-out for the holidays.

Ontario / Re: 25th Ann. figures at Winners

Yeah I saw the comic book two packs of Rock n Roll and that wave going for $13.99 or $12.99 as well as the full wave of single cards. (In London, Ont.) The better deal is that Winners has Desert Brawl (the big one) and full sized Optimus and Megatron from the last movie for $39.99. (Original SRP $59.99.) I finally picked up an Optimus platinum version with automorph and silver paint apps that are about as close as they came to chroming the pipes.

General Joe Talk / Re: Help with opening glued figures!

Thanks I will try one of these methods soon and report back. How long do you have to boil him for the boil and pop? It won't hurt the color change ability will it? (I remember that we used to 'break' those hypercolour T-shirts back in the day by putting them in the dryer.)

What a slap in the face to the fans trying to get this set! First it's not available and now mysteriously being cleared out at select stores? They said there were plenty 'in the channel'. This is their idea of 'no prob, you will be able to get set 5'? This would be like not being able to assemble the big figure from Marvel Legends figure waves. Now all that will happen is that the scalpers will dive in with their Visa cards and buy all the sale ones and then sell them for $90.00 on ebay. Thanks again Hasbro. Too bad the ask Hasbro sessions are 99% 'When is wave 'x' coming out?' instead of calling them on this BS! It just shows Hasbro that we are suckers and will buy their stuff whether they put it out properly or not.

General Joe Talk / Help with opening glued figures!
« on: June 23, 2009, 12:57:11 AM »
Hey there everyone, I recently bought a pack of 100 fresh O-rings and was merrily replacing all my staff's innards when I found that my Zartan seems to be glued shut. The screw comes out but he still doesn't come apart at the seams. Do any of you customizing fiends out there have any advice or tips on how to pry him apart without breaking him? Also I have a Tripwire with a stripped screw head that I can't turn.. I know you guys deal with these types of issues all the time so I figured there might be some special trick or something.. Any help would be greatly appreciated! :cobra:

If I didn't sell the set.  I would be divorced and would be forced to sell the set anyway to pay legal bills and what ever else she takes.  And if I sold the set I would be so angry, I would never talk to her again---hence divorce.  Childish yes, but that's me and my Joes!

I had a really good time! Thanks a lot for putting on this event, we could see that you worked really hard on it! I am fully enjoying my Hate tank! I grabbed a couple of Target planes and a Resolute 5 pack while I was there. I really enjoyed talking to the Hasbro rep. (What was his name anyways?) I didn't get the chance to talk to Mark Bellomo and I wish that I had bought a copy of his book but I had to leave early. Did he leave any copies with you? Sorry I didn't get the chance to talk to you guys more! I will definitely be seeing you next year!
